It's a love-hate thing.

How many out there have experienced tattoo regret? Would you remove one if you could?

Or do you consider them art, and would get more ink in a heartbeat?

regret-free tip: don't get ink before you're 21

Yeah, people should think about their future.

Gracegirl140 says:

I do not have any tattoos. My grandfather had one he regretted, the name of his old girlfriend in a heart. Also I remember as he got older it didn't look very nice.

angelwings says:

I am 18 and i just got a tattoo in memory of my father. I love my father but regret the tattoo already.

cereviews says:

I think one should start of with a nice temporary tattoo and see how they like it. Then go for the real thing.

A says:

oh i meant my friend got one when she was 15 ** sorry for the mis print. i think its out of choice but you should consider it properly and not randomly decide to get one.

A says:

i really want small stars on the outside of my ankle but i've gone for henna for now as im only 14. my friend got one on her lower back when she was 25 but i wont be allowed. probably a good thing, ill wait til im 20 and see if i still want it then.

hannah. says:

i'm 19 and; have two. but i still think that some people who get stupid things all over, that's just not smart. i drew one, and the other is my favorite positive quote.
things i'm proud of.

whatever says:

I think that if your tattoo actually symbolizes or represents something important, like a family member or something than it is worth it but it's stupid when people get random tattoos everywhere.

Black_Butterfly says:

I have a tattoo and when my parents find out i am soo dead dont get ink if your parents dont approve

rooturaj says:

i have got a religious tattoo on my right underarm. After the passionate urge to get the tattoo I regretted for one whole week. Not about the tattoo but about possibility of having contracted some blood propagated disease. Make sure you are in your right mind while getting a tattoo. Take your time. Especially dont tattoo your beloveds name you can regret it latter.

X says:

Sometimes expressing yourself on your skin isn't the best choice. In my opinion nobody is gonna give a rats ass about your tattoos only but yourself. Plus I see no point to them at all. I keep on hearing it expresses who I am blah blah and who I was blah blah blah well guess what buddy that's why you got a soul and a brain my friend all of those memories will be there! why ruin your skin? You came to this planet with out them, Why not die without out them since your body will rot anyways. I also hate that's its a trend. Leave the tattoos back in the dark ages of mankind! we are in the 21st century time to take care of our bodies that we made and lets express ourselves in a different way.

bugpod wanker says:

lol gwtoghdjxsshAhhhhh

jack99 says:

it's better to stay away of tattoos

PerryWilliams says:

No it's not like that. These are good for those who likes it. Basically this is the choice of new generation to have a tattoo on their body. By the way great collection of pictures and videos to showoff the tattoos. 5***** to you.

SingleAdultContacts says:

I love tattoos, but haven't got any yet! One day.
Keep up the good work!

SolarFeline says:

I love my tatto and am planning to get more. That being said, they are not for everyone. It's a personal choice that one should make after much consideration. Most importantly, think about what you will get - don't make a choice you might regret later.

jchulew says:

Tattoos are great for people who have considered all the consequences. However, for anyone who wishes to work at a professional job, they may want to consider a tattoo in a spot not normally seen by others.

HngryHippo says:

Hey bud, I gave you a good rating. Nice page, I really do like it alot. Any helpful hints for mine?

Ajmartirano says:

think ahead plan your tattos before even thinking about it

KathyMcGraw says:

I paid hundreds of dollars to have tatoos removed for one of my Foster Children, only to have her go back later and put more on. I think people should not do anything as permanent as a tatoo on a whim. Emotional buying and emotional "I want this tattoo" are in the same boat...think about it first, and give yourself time before making a decision.

No way, Monkeybrain! LOVE my tats!

coolhand says:

17, my buddy did a 3X4.5 inch skull and cross bones on my leg above my knee, he got a tattoo gun and it was all sterile and clean and it came out good. The skull design My dad sent me from prison, so it has meaning to me. there are also like 8 more that he sent me and I want all of them to be tattoos at some point. They may not be the perfect fu@#ing thing around but they have meaning and look killer. I say that old school tat are best, simple least amount of color, unless you are gay I dont think you should be walin around all colorful and whatnot its just weird. when I get a touchup, I plan on gettin one or two more small ones.

The Hedge says:

I have three tattoos, all cartoon characters. I've never regretted any of them! Life is about enjoying things, and having fun, why should I allow myself to worry about what it might look like later on? I like the way it looks now!

hisrock says:

im only 19, have 5 tats..do not regret any, and do not believe that i will ever. Its a reminder of the past, or future. They are a part of me

Mellowd says:

I have to say I have 10 tattoos and I don't reget any of them

sarahjjac says:

I have two. I do not regret getting them, just the placement of one. I think that tattoos are awesome and people shouldn't be judged because of them. It's my body and I hope to get at least two more in the next few years.

reneh2o says:

I got my first tattoo when I was 18, its around my belly button..I don't regret that one, but I got a really small chinese symbol on my back a few years later. (kinda regret that one) I don't mind tattoos, I just wish I didn't get a symbol.

jessicahoward says:

well i will say its up to people's choice and if they want to enjoy like doing this ofcourse they can....

SaraMu says:

I don't have one, but I'm all for others to get them. If I wasn't afraid of needles maybe I would reconsider.

says:

I waited 9 years to get my first tattoo (I was 9 when I wanted to get one) and 3 months for my second and I still love both of them. Even if I'd lose my interest for what they represent, I still wouldn't regret them since they don't only show who I am but also who I was.

BlindOptimism says:

I forget my tattoo is there most of the time, which is odd considering it's a great big word on my inner left arm. So I wouldn't say I 'love' it, but am glad I have it. As long as it's a personal expression/extension of oneself, rather than a fashion statement (which appears to be a bit of a stigma) then I don't really how it is much different to a hairstyle or jewellery

Moneyman123 says:

Love my tatts, can tell you alot about a person

Runningbandit says:

I have one and will probably be getting another of my daughters name somewhere, not too sure where, but soon. I don't regret it, but I thought about mine.

andi says:

i love my tattoos! i thought hard about what i wanted on my body and they are a great way to show my personality and my art in a beautiful way. i dont see why there is still a stigma out there about tattooed people. it's nothing but art that people choose to display on their body <3

Cheryl says:

i am in my 50s and I got my tats when women didn't do that sort of thing now everybody and their aunt have them so much for being unique. I guess I will be the old lady in the nursing home that they try to guess what kind of wild thing i was in my youth. lol

Kristopher says:

Nope, no regrets. And "Mark says:

To express yourself you are stuck with Tattoos only?
There is much you can do in this life to express yourself." It's not the only way, but it a way some choose to express themselves. Sailor Jerry said it best: "You don't have to get a tattoo, but don't look down on the people that have one just because you don't have the balls to get one."

steveffeo says:

I have a few and like them all

deevee4eva says:

personally. i think a tattoo is a ID of your personality. if u put something there that has meaning to who u are. then PERFECT!!! i have one which is very sentimental and i wouldn't regret it even if i died cuz of it. it makes me happy!!! it makes me, ME!!!
and it cant effect your future if u just take the time to decide on the right place, and the right idea... and the right reasons.. then regret is millions of miles away....

abender says:

I love my tattoo, but waited until I was 26, was sober, and thought about it for years before getting one. It is not the original one I planned, but similar and looks like a permanent anklet. But everyone should think before they ink and WHERE they ink.

SoccerDrillCoach says:

Love mt tattoo. Have the Liverpool emblem.

moneymaking12345 says:

History of the tattoo

Category: File - :Roshi Ensei lifting a heavy beam.jpg|thumb|upright|210px|Japanese wrestler with full body tattoos (c.1800s)

A tattoo is a marking made by inserting ink into the layers of skin to change the pigment for decorative or other reasons. Tattoos on humans are a type of decorative body modification, while tattoos on animals are most commonly used for identification or branding.

Tattooing has been practiced worldwide. The Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan, traditionally wore facial tattoos. Today one can find Berbers of Tamazgha (North Africa), Maori of New Zealand, and Atayal of Taiwan with facial tattoos. Tattooing was widespread among Polynesian peoples and among certain tribal groups in the Taiwan, Philippines, Borneo, Mentawai Islands, Africa, North America, South America, Mesoamerica, Europe, Japan, Cambodia, New Zealand and Micronesia. Despite some taboos surrounding tattooing, the art continues to be popular in many parts of the world.
