Thinking about getting a tattoo removed?

How can a tattoo be removed??

Did you get a tattoo years ago without thinking of the consequences?? Is it badly done or just obscene? Maybe you have realized that many employers wont give you a job if you have a tattoo that can be seen? Are you tried of being stereotyped or discriminated against because of a tattoo?? You really don't have to live with it forever! There are ways to have a tattoo removed!

These are three common ways to have a tattoo removed:'

Laser Removal. The pigment colors of the tattoo are treated with a high intensity laser beam. Lasers are the most popular as they cause no blood loss, are low risk and are highly effective with minimal side effects!

Dermabrasion. The surgeon will "sand" off the surface and middle layers of the tattoos. The skin is "frozen" and then the layers are removed. Dermabrasion was originally used to treat scars from acne and/or chicken pox.

Surgical Excision. Physically removing the tattoo with a scalpel and closing the wound with stitches. Proven to be highly effective.

Does Tattoo Removal Hurt?

Tattoo removal has been compared to having hot grease splattered on your skin over and over again or being snapped by a rubber band. I've also heard many people say that tattoo removal is a lot more painful than getting the original tattoo!

Some doctors will administer a local anesthetic injection before the procedure while others will just use an anesthetic cream.

Most tattoos require more than one laser treatment to have the tattoo completely removed depending on the colors of the tattoo and how deep the ink is in the skin. Black is normally the easiest to remove while green can be the most difficult!
