Second and easy solution is probably the cheapest but may not be 100% satisfactory - to find another tattoo artist (should be easy - there are over 50 thousand in the USA alone !)
Most offer a Tattoo Removal Service
Get him/her to tattoo OVER your existing tattoo with a matched flesh color. This may be more expensive than your original tatto however and some tattoo artists won't do it.
Third solution
is Tattoo Removal Surgery - usually involves surgical removal of the tattoo and possibly a skin graft (expensive)
Fourth Solution is Dermabrasion - either a chemical kit you can use at home or a dermabrasion process in a specialist surgery (again - expensive)
Fifth solution is a Chemical Cream that will slowly fade away your tattoo - painless and easy to do at home.
Sixth Solution is Laser Tattoo Removal - again a specialist technique and you MUST check out the doctor/consultant offering this service carefully as there are MANY unqualified people who have just purchased a laser removal machine and set up as a service . This is the most expensive option but it is quick and will produce best results.
It is unlikely to be covered by Health Insurance since this procedure is usually considered as a cosmetic treatment.
Please be aware that older tattoos are the most difficult to remove and may be impossible to completely remove especially if the tattoo is a deep one. Not all laser removal specialists will tell you this !
Lastly PLEASE DO NOT TRY HOME SURGERY - all you'll succeed in doing is getting a ride to hospital in an ambulance and a horrific bill for medical services (and a VERY nasty scar !)

Rejuvi Tattoo Removal
This is NOT a home use product for Tattoo Removal
It takes up to 3 or 4 sessions to eradicate a tattoo completely.
The cream is not just applied but has to be specially applied by a Properly Trained tattoo Artist or Permanent Makeup Artist (yes it removes permanent makeup too !)
Its delivered with a tattoo-type machine and its similar to having a tattoo .Unlike other systems, Rejuvi doesn't just replace the color with a skin color but actually does remove the inks.
There will be a scab (containing the remove ink)after the treatment and you usually need a second treatment at least 4 weeks later to avoid scarring.
This is NOT a medical treatment nr does it involve Bleaches.
But you REALLY can't do this at home - honestly !
Its not cheap though
But is generally in the region of $ 150 to $250 per square inch of tattoo (gets cheaper for bigger ones !) - cost varies by country/area.
It *IS* a lot cheaper than laser tattoo removal and surgical tattoo removal though.
There are specialist laser removal laboratories in most major cities or ask your tattoo artist for details.

A Laser Day Spa. CMYF is offering assistance to people who are trying to improve their lives but have experienced the negative consequences of visible tattoos.
Lars Enevoldsen, M.D. (Modesto plastic surgeon and member of the Modesto Rotary Club) and Sheila Singh, R.N., F.N.P.(Director of Nursing, A Laser Day Spa), are each graciously volunteering their time to conduct the tattoo removal clinics. Each is also volunteering the use of their laser machines to the CMYF for this project.
