The Truth About The Tax Masters- Read This First

If you've seen the TV commercial promoting the service of the Tax Masters and are considering hiring them, you should definitely read this first...

Tax Masters is a Texas based firm run by Patrick Cox that does a lot of public TV spots promising to help you with IRS issues such as Audits and filing back tax returns.

Instead of criticizing Tax Masters, I thought it would be appropriate to simply link to many different blogs online where the public is talking about Tax Masters and their experience with them.

My Opinion below:

My feeling about ALL firms in this marketplace over charge their clients for representation on these issues, and it's best to take a "holistic" approach to solving your tax issues, as sometimes firms like Tax Masters are the right choice and then sometimes your CPA would do a better job at a fraction of the cost.

This is why I recommend what the folks over at 411 Tax Relief do as they provide you with reasonable options only AFTER discussing the situation you have with the IRS.

Step 1 (Takes 2 minutes tops):

Before doing anything, you must first get an idea of what category you fit into and who should be dealing with you (a CPA, a Tax Attorney, or even yourself!) and the best way of accomplishing this is to fill out the simple form located here. This will set you on the road of truly understanding what the best step is for you on your road to getting this IRS nightmare off your plate.

It's most important that you first understand your situation before spending an additional $4000 or more with a Tax advisory company when you could in fact just settle your case on your own. For example, if you didn't file a tax return for a certain year and the IRS contacts you with a bill, you can simple refile that years tax return and possibly eliminate that "bill" from the IRS altogether. Everyone's situation is different! This is why you need to first truly understand what is the best option for before spending a lot of money (possibly unnecessarily) with one of these firms.

Again, this is why right now, while it's fresh on your mind, you need to fill out this simple form first (takes 90 seconds) to determine your situation.

Fill Out This Form First!

Now, there are plenty of blogs on the Internet where people get to share their opinions on their experiences with Tax Masters, and I am not personally going to condemn them or promote them, as I don't believe their service is appropriate for everyone and instead you should get an idea of your options FIRST before giving them a call. This is precisely why I recommend that you fill out this 90 second form first!

Next, if you must, you can check out the following blogs to read about other people's experiences with Tax Masters. Keep in mind that by linking to these blogs I am not saying a good nor a bad thing about Tax Masters, but rather just providing you with links to where people share their experience.
