Taylor Swift is a country music singer-songwriter from Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. At the age of 15, she became the youngest recruit to Big Machine Records, a joint venture between former Dreamworks executive Scott Borchetta and country superstar Toby Keith. In 2006, at only 16, she released her debut single "Tim McGraw", which is currently a hit song on the Country charts.
Since her success, she has appeared on Good Morning America, and at the 2006 Academy of Country Music Awards. Her pursuit of country music stardom was the subject of "GAC Short Cuts," a part-documentary, part-music video series that aired during the summer of 2006 on the country music channel Great American Country.
Her self-titled debut CD was released on October 24, 2006 and sold more than 40,000 during its first week. She sang the national anthem at the November 12, 2006 Nascar race and at the November 23, 2006 Thanksgiving Day football game between the Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions. She currently resides in Nashville with her family. (read more)

I always feel sorry for all the people that are such fanatical fans of other singers that they can't appreciate and enjoy Taylor's music and singing. Also, I would imagine most of them have never actually heard her sing live, they've only watched t.v. performances at awards shows. In any case, there is something about her that goes beyond some factory-produced, cliched songs sung by mechanical Simon-cowell chosen over-sung vocals, she connects with her music on a whole different level with those that open up their minds and hearts to her. Despite my words above, I do appreciate Carrie's power voice but there are so many like her that sing other's words and music with voices that are just that, Power voices with no soul. Just my opinion :)
