Team One Winners!
Sylvestermouse

Beginning with two lenses, Cynthia created a total of 50 lenses for this challenge! Woohoo! Congratulations, Cynthia!
Cynthia has a "Hangin' With" series:

Most Lenses Rated
Of the Giant Squid hopefuls, Mary Beth has rated the most lenses. Congratulations, Mary Beth!
Mary Beth loves lighthouses. She recently vacationed at the Outer Banks in North Carolina, and came back with lots of material for lighthouse lenses. She even made a lighthouse lens while she was still on her vacation! Here it is:

Most Team Spirit
When she posted her 50th lens, dedicated to Team One, that was the topper to the loads of support she has shown us all. Congratulations, Cynthia!
BevsPaper
Most Community Spirit
If you join a Giant Squid Challenge team, then get promoted to Giant Squid Greeter for next quarter, it's not because you aren't community minded. Thank you to Bev for all of the support and for encouraging Team One to love their community. Congratulations, Bev!
Here is a lens from Bev:

Most Improved Lensmaster
Kimberly wasn't afraid to tackle new things. She saw what she liked in lens design, and she fearlessly adapted her favorite ideas to her own lenses. She's working out a style that will be her own with each successive lens. Congratulations, Kimberly!
Check out her style here:
_Joan_
Most Creative
A prerequisite for being a homeschooling mom is probably a healthy dose of creativity. Joan displays her creativity in all of her lenses — especially in her story lenses. Congratulations, Joan!
She's rewritten a classic fairytale:

Most Likely To Reach 100 Lenses First
With a good head start, and even being just about neck and neck with me at 65 lenses, Mary Beth is likely to go from her current 61 to leader of this pack! A pre-congratulations to Mary Beth!
A Squid can't visit the Outer Banks without coming back with a lens about the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse:
Sylvestermouse
Plexo Winner: Giant Hopeful
With the most votes, Cynthia wins for her lens about her dream car. Congratulations, Cynthia!
BevsPaper
Plexo Winner: Giant 100 Hopeful
With the most votes, Bev wins for her lens about how to be happy. Congratulations, Bev!
Most Valuable Player
Team One
Right up until this moment, I was going to choose the one member that was most valuable to the team. But, now that the time has arrived, I can't say who was the most valuable. "Valuable" can be defined in so many ways — we could choose from the descriptions above or we could choose another description, but any one description of "most valuable" would negate the others. So, the whole team wins. We all made this a valuable journey, and we all should get the credit.
Kudos for Team One!

My experience at Team One was enjoyable and enriching. The members of our team were a sweet blessing. The continued support, warmth and kindness made my day on many occasion.
Thank-you Mimi for your never-ending patience and loving support.
Thank-you Bev for your wonderful coaching skills, your encouraging words, and the countless hours you devoted to Team One.
Thank-you Melissa for the technical skills and knowledge you shared.
Thank-you ladies of Team One for your devotion and commitment!
Participating in Team One was a lovely learning experience. The continued support, warmth and kindness made my day on many occasion.Through this I learned to love Squidoo and the talent that abounds. I have indeed become addicted. My current technical skills proved a bit of a frustration and navigating the Ning forum even reasonably well took me to the end of the contest. But I learned so much and as my skills began to grow my motivation increased. Even though I did not make the goal of 50 yet I will continue to strive for this goal. I am in great admiraton for those that reached the 50 marker. Their staunch determination and persistence had paid off!
In the words of our famous Team Leader Miss Mimi. Woo hoo !!! —Ladydove62

This Giant Squid challenge has caused me to REACH . . .
. . . To REACH OUT even more to my comrades as we all encourage and inspire each other along the way. While some are Squidlets and others are more seasoned lensmasters, our common ground is an environment for development and growth. And oh, how I love seeing Giants and Giant 100s in-the-making working side-by-side in community . . . not just within a team but across teams.
. . . To REACH WITHIN and to REACH UP toward the goal I had set for myself despite some family difficulties that surfaced just after the Giant Squid Challenge began. Time became an issueParticipation in the Giant Squid challenge has allowed me to be a part of making Squidoo an amazing destination on the web. and my focus and drive were battered. In short, it would have been easy to drop out. But there's something very special about firm and compassionate leadership (Mimi, Bev, Melissa) . . . there's something almost magical that occurs in a team dynamic that spurs you on. Every newly published lens I read and rated, gave me inspiration and insights on getting better myself. And every comment I received on a new lens I managed to complete, was incentive to push on. Wow!
Many thanks to all the Giant Squid leaders, who provide invaluable assistance in honing our lens-crafting and exampling Squid-citizenship . . . from the How-To helps to featuring showcase-worthy new lenses to Squid blessings (and everything in between). Participation in the Giant Squid challenge has allowed me to be a part of making Squidoo an amazing destination on the web. —nDee

Team One brought me into a great community! I expected some help with my lenses, and I got that and so much more. Maybe I could have finished 50 lenses in the same time by myself, probably actually, but they wouldn't have been the same lenses. Being part of Team One brought challenges to do all kinds of lenses I would never have tried otherwise, and information on how to do stuff I didn't know about on Squidoo.
This is Team One's mantra:
"I support my team, but I compete only with myself."
And it works!
The "challenge" was not a competition to see who could do the best or the most lenses, it was each squid challenging him or herself to do their best and supporting all the others to do their best too. And the support was amazing! I never had so many visits and great comments There's no point comparing and thinking someone is better (or worse) than you are. Each person has something, or a lot of things, to say and their own unique way of saying it. It's a great way to learn about stuff you never knew you were interested in!on my lenses before. It's not just MiMi our team leader and Bev and Melissa our coaches who visited and left comments, it's all the other team members too. This gave me hope and inspiration to write more, many more, and to improve the lenses I had already published. Of course there are also the helpful critiques on the Ning page too, things like "Where's the Guestbook?" and "You left default titles on these modules again!" that kept me on my toes.
And reading everyone else's lenses has been such a joy. It's wonderful to get to know other lensmasters. What a great group of people! And everyone is unique. There's no point comparing and thinking someone is better (or worse) than you are. Each person has something, or a lot of things, to say and their own unique way of saying it. It's a great way to learn about stuff you never knew you were interested in!
So, I just want to say a big Thank You to everyone on Team One! It's been a great time together, and I hope we continue swimming along together as Giant Squids! —jptanabe

I am a member of Squidoo community since 2007 and till June 2009 having desired for Squidoo giant but not able to co-up with things.
One day I got email from Mimi GrowWear to join a Squidoo Giant Challenge Team: Team One, it's my pleasure that I have got invited.
Being a part of Squidoo Giant Challenge Team, Team One is a really nice experience and fun.
All the members are co-operative, active, visit your lens, and give feedbacks. Everyone is ready to give time to review lens of other community member, that's one of the good spirit.
As I am not native Reviews from community are one of the best benefits.English speaker team help in to improve it, and after that I keep checking my content twice. Reviews from community are one of the best benefits.
If anyone want to be a Squidoo giant then they must need joined a team. Team becomes daily dose of inspiration and work. Team activity keeps you active and fresh so you can achieve the target and at least your mind keep saying make a lens, find topic etc.
One more interesting part is lots of working people are there and they make lens after working hours that gives courage to be active& they also share such things.
The other thing which benefits is weekly challenges and mentors. Mentors keep giving tutorial to make a good Squidoo lens & to find topic.—Shwetashah

I have found that being part of the Team Challenge has been a very rewarding experience. It is a wonderful place to go to find great tips for your lenses and the support you receive from team members is fantastic!
This morning I logged in and found a link to some great tips for polishing up my lenses. Just what I needed to get me to the finish line. This happens again and again. It seems that someoneI would highly recommend anyone going for Giant Squid or Giant 100 to be part of the Team Challenge. is anticipating just what I need that day :)
I can't say enough about the wonderful encouraging tips I have received from MiMi and the team! I have not always been as active as I'd like due to family circumstances, but the team has always been there for me and been very understanding.
The Team Challenge is also a great place to post your new lenses and have a group of people that will look at them and give you feedback. I would highly recommend anyone going for Giant Squid or Giant 100 to be part of the Team Challenge. —mbgphoto

Being part of Team One has been a wonderful experience. I'm not much of a club person, so was hesitant about joining when I got my Team One group invitation.
I've been going it alone since I joined Squidoo, but thought being part of the group might encourage me to actually reach 50 lenses, a goal I had been lax about reaching on my own. I didn't expect the group to be as welcoming We were a team, there was no competition between us, everyone was universally supportive, and everyone thoroughly lived up to our team mantra: "I support my team, but I compete only with myself."and encouraging as they were though, nor did I realize until joining how much nicer it was to be connected with everyone striving to reach the same goal. Seeing everyone's lenses and learning from the classes really gave my lenses a boost, and really improved my entire outlook of Squidoo. Without the encouragement and support of our wonderful leaders, MiMi, Bev, and Melissa, who took time out of their busy schedules to work with us and do everything they could to help us reach our goals, I know there's no way I could have gotten as far along as I have, and if I get to be a Giant Squid, I know most of the credit goes to them. Some credit has to go to the other group members as well though. We were a team, there was no competition between us, everyone was universally supportive, and everyone thoroughly lived up to our team mantra: "I support my team, but I compete only with myself." Being part of Team One has been great, and no matter whether I make Giant Squid or not, I'm happy to have been part of this incredible group. —AlishaV

How have I grown? That is a tough question. I am the same Melissa that I was when I started. I am the Melissa whom loves helping others when I can. I came a little short
on the last challenge and not by much which is okay as that gave me more room to work with, this round. Within the week before starting this round, I had managed to hit 100 lenses, but I did not stop at that. I made approximately twenty-five lenses extra for this challenge which is surprising myself. This shows how a challenge can really help a great deal. I was not expecting that extra, but it did happen.
What I am more impressed is that each and everyone on the team committed to creating new lenses. There were some of them whom came in with only seven or eight lenses and have hit twenty or more lenses which is a feat in itself. I am proud to see that about them. This shows how a challenge can really help a great deal. I am proud of each and everyone on the team. —Trekkiemelissa

The Giant Squid Challenge for September 2009 has been such a joy to participate in! It was so rewarding to be able to coach a handful of potential giants and watch them grow in their
lensmaking skills. It was so rewarding to be able to coach a handful of potential giants and watch them grow in their lensmaking skills.Mimi has been an awesome leader for Team One and has been a true joy to work with. Seeing true friendships develop as the weeks progressed was also a pleasure to see. Squidoo has developed into a community that I'm so very proud to be a part of. I'm hoping that the challenge will hold fond memories for all who participated and if nothing else it gave them a sense of belonging to a family, to a community where they will always feel at home. To all of the members of Team One...I'm so thrilled to have been a part of your journey and I wish you the very best. You have worked hard, you have grown, and I'm so very proud of each of you! —BevsPaper

- I love reading obout other lensmaster's experiences. I'm not as involved in the community as I would like to be. I recognize names and faces but I don't know anyone well. I'd like to change that one day.
Have a wonderful New Year

- I am deeply grateful for this team and to this team! One of the things that I liked best about this team is that there really is not a "most valuable player." Each member is valuable. It is the combination of minds, spirits and hearts that makes a "most valuable team" to each of us as individuals.
