MLM stands for Multi Level Marketing. Another term is Network Marketing. MLM is a system of marketing and delivering products or services directly to the end user. Goods or "services" are moved through a network of distributors. It cuts out the middle men and it's an industry that can change your life.

It's fun, rewarding and life changing. So get involved, get committed and take action.

With so much hype on the Internet today, many people jump from company to company trying to find the next best thing.

MLM is a real business and requires hard work, action steps and focus.

Building a very good MLM income takes time. Don't most people go to college at least four years to prepare for their career? Well, our industry isn't any different. Commit 3-5 years to your MLM business. MLM is the only industry I know that you can earn while you learn.

If you learn fast, you will earn fast. Do you get to a certain level and stop working? No, you just work differently.

The only people that do not succeed in MLM are the ones that quit or don't commit. Simply, MLM takes time, a little money, effort, commitment, action and a BURNING DESIRE.

It's not a get rich quick scheme. It's not always easy. It's a simple business and very rewarding.

Your MLM Success depends on you. Are you willing to take action? Are you willing to work hard? Are you willing to let go of the naysayers?

Be Prepared if your family and friends are not interested. So, you start with your family and friends and they aren't supportive. Should you quit? Absolutely not. Don't take rejection personally. Move on. Not everyone will be supportive and that is okay. When you become successful, they will be become curious.

Use your company's products. Be your own best customer. Become knowledgeable and educated about your products. As you purchase your products, throw away competing products.

Duplicate what others have proven successful. In the beginning duplicate the actions that have been effective for others. Then, use your abilities to explore new ideas and match your personality and niche.

Set goals and write them down. If you are going to succeed in MLM, you must have goals - daily, weekly, monthly and long term. Write them down, tell them to your upline and share them with friends.

Be Positive One of my favorite mentors, Jan Ruhe said it best. "What you think-you do, what you think-you look, what you think-you are." Mindset and self development are essential in MLM. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Surround yourself with success-minded people. And stay away from the negative ones.

Work your business every day. Take action each day. How many prospects will you call? How many business cards will you hand out? How many customers will you follow up with? Lifestyle your business and you will be amazed at the results.

Be a leader. There is a leader within each of us. You just need to find it and develop it. Think about this. If everyone in my organization duplicated my efforts, what would my business look like? The big money in MLM comes to those that blaze a simple trail and help many others follow it.

Never Give Up!Put your blinders on and go for it! MLM is an amazing journey. Those that are successful, have been knocked down many times, but got right back up. Learn from your mistakes and be willing to do what most won't.

Effective leaders bring out the best in people by empowering and stimulating them to achieve what they once thought was impossible.

It's true, there's a leader within each of us. So, how do you become a leader in MLM? First, declare yourself as a leader. Act like one and don't let anyone discourage you. Study leaders within your industry. Leadership can be learned. Study those that are getting results.

Next, work on becoming a master recruiter and seller. Learn MLM. And work on your leadership skills. In fact, never stop working on them.

Leaders are readers. The degree to which you put in personal development and leadership skills will determine the success you achieve in MLM.

Successful leaders are willing to do what most others won't.

Create Partnerships. Remember, a partnership is a two-way street. Your potential leader also needs to commit to his/her success. Ask questions of your future leaders. Find out what they really want. Your role is to find out what they want and help them achieve it.

As a leader, never stop personally recruiting. Leaders lead, they don't manage. Work with those that are committed to their success. Set goals and make a commitment to reach those goals.

Attend seminars, conference calls, company trainings. Blaze a trail to get the knowledge to be a Master in MLM. And share it with your organization.

One of the most common questions today, is How to Recruit? Well, there are many ways. You might have to try several before you find what is right for you. It takes some people 6 months or maybe even a year before they get their first recruit. IF you don't get a recruit within your first six weeks, should you quit. Of course not.

One of the first rules in recruiting is to have energy. Use it. Show your enthusiasm and others will see it and become curious.

Ask questions. And listen. When talking to a prospect, find out what is missing in their life. Gather information. Take that information and use the facts and features of your company and turn them into benefits that make your prospects want to get involved. Always be honest and upfront.

Your job as a leader is to recruit and to teach others the same. Recruiting can be done offline and/or online. Don't recruit for your own sake. Always think about what is in it for others.

Keep it simple. Creating a successful MLM team includes

1. Finding a few customers
2. Find a few distributors
3. Helping your distributors do the same.

FOLLOW UP
The single most important action you can take in recruiting is following up. If you aren't following up, you are wasting time in MLM. Ask questions. Did they review the information? What additional questions can you answer? Do you see the possibilities with the opportunity of our company?

IF there is hesitation, ask more questions and get to the root of it.

Remember, you can make a powerful, positive difference in the lives of hundreds and thousands of people.

There are several things to consider when looking for a MLM company.

Here are things to consider when looking for a Network Marketing company.

1. How long has your company been business?
A 5-12 year old company is a great place to start.
There's room for exciting growth.

2. Does your company management have experience? Do they understand what it takes to build a business from home? Do they care about the distributors? Or do they care about just making money?

3. Do you have value priced products? Can the average person afford your products. If so, great. If not, you need to reevaluate. You need products that are affordable. If you don't, you will be in the convincing business, which isn't much fun.

4) Did you read your policy and procedures? What are the policies on having a personal website, internet network marketing? If you know you want to build a business using the Internet, you must check out their rules and regulations. Is the policy and procedure section 20, 30 pages long? If so, why? It shouldn't be.

5) How many people does it take for you to make $10k in residual income. Some companies need 10,000, 8,000 4000, or even 2,500 distributors to make $10k per month. So, do your research and find out the numbers.

These are a few ideas to help you begin your search and some of the most important.

Huge Market Your product must appeal to a huge market - Men and women; young and old; and all ethnic groups.

Unique,Consumable product - You need a product that is unique and highly consumable.

Timing and Trends - Is your product in front of a trend? Timing is everything in this industry. Make sure your product is aligned with the trends of today.

Time Leverage - Can you build a team with your product? Is it simple? Does it take lots of explanation? MLM means time leverage. Build a team, partner with them and earn passive, residual income.

Competition Does your product have hundreds or thousands of competitors? Look at your competition and the number of competitors.

I'm a mom, wife, cook, taxi cab driver, maid, entrepreneur and a life-long learner. Just as you, I am many different things.

My story is similar to many, maybe even yours. I had a promising career in Corporate America. I enjoyed what I did, but I always knew I wanted more. I wanted Freedom. I wanted my time to be my own. So, I jumped in. I look at several options. I had to find what was right for me and my family. I decided to apply the time and dedication that it would take to see the end results I wanted.

That was 2.5 years ago and WOW it's been amazing. Network Marketing and MLM has changed my life.

Today, I'm a Network Marketing Coach. I always knew I wanted to earn residual income. You know, get paid over and over without having to recreate that income every month. I wanted a simple business that was recession proof and I wanted multiple streams of income.

The Internet always intrigued me. I knew as a busy mom, I needed to learn to work smarter, not harder. And I knew the Internet was my answer. The Internet and Network Marketing are a great fit. I wanted to work from the comfort of my home. Sometimes, I work in my PJ's.
