Challenge Yourself!

Welcome to the lens for Team One. We are one of five teams that are competing in the Giant Squid Challenge September 2009 — organized by our Giant Squid Community Organizers and the Giant Squid Greeters.

It's a friendly competition geared to inspire and motivate you to be your best.

I am a Giant Squid and a Giant Squid Greeter. Long before becoming a Giant Squid, I had the same self doubts about being able to make 50 quality lenses that you may be having right now. Yet, you probably aspire to be a Giant, too. That's why I am qualified to lead you and this team. Here, I invite you to accept Team One's Giant Squid Challenge.

This challenge is open to those who want to be a Giant Squid, as well as, to those who want to become a member of the Giant 100 Club (Giant Squids with 100 or more quality lenses).

For more information, read on. If your aspirations are kicking in at full throttle afterward, sign up and let's make some lenses!

Why Join Team One?

What's the reward?

What Are You Waiting For?Once you've met this challenge, you'll think of even more positives for your own unique situation. For now, here are a few of the realities:

The winning team or teams get a special time to chat with the Giant Squid Organizers.

The Giant Squid Organizers will do blog posts about the winning team(s).

You'll get experience and help from coaches who are Giant Squids already.

You'll be supported by a group of your peers.

You'll challenge yourself to see how far you can go.

You'll gain a deep satisfaction from a job well done!

This challenge, as I've said, is all in the spirit of camaraderie and pushing your team and yourself to new heights. Yes, we do want to get the most lenses built and get that chat and those blog posts, but more importantly, we want to see you succeed. So, whether or not you build two lenses to add to the plexos or enough to get that application for Giant Squid or Giant 100 sent in, the ultimate win is if you challenged yourself and grew along the way. I wish you much success, and I challenge you to challenge yourself!

Team One And You

Challenge yourself!

Our team name comes from what the challenge is all about — competing with yourself to see what you can accomplish — all while being supported by and helping your teammates to produce lensesYou're Right - Henry Ford -- Buy at AllPosters.com that are Giant worthy.

If, in the process, we become the team with the most lenses produced, well ,that's a win for us all. Woot!

Growth comes from being the best you that you can be. On this team, and for the whole challenge, your biggest competitor here should be your one and only self.

How many lenses do you challenge yourself to make? How badly do you want to be a Giant Squid or a Giant Squid 100? What is going to motivate you to achieve your goals? What is going to motivate you to be your best?

I was in this past challenge, June '09, and I started out with 27 lenses. I competed with myself only, and that's what I'd like you to do. Join this team and see how high you can climb.
