Who is Teddi?

My given name is Theadora but I like being called Teddi. I was named after at lady friend of my mom. My middle initial is E. My initials are TEK. I kept my maiden name when I got married--I figured I had had it for 39 years--I'm keeping it! I may hypenate it at some point. Here I am in a picture with my son in 2006.

I just found out I made Giant Squid!!!

April 7, 2009 4:15 pm EST

I just opened my email and I found out I made Giant Squid. I am so excited. All my hard work paid off. I am reading the Giant Squid Handbook now on pdf. I can not wait to use all the cool Giant Squid tools and get my badge on my profile!

My Name... Theadora

I was named Theadora BEFORE my mom meet her second husband and his name was Theodore. He went by Ted. (I hate saying went...he passed away in May 2007 to Lung Cancer and probably the effects of being exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam.) He adopted my sister and I so I got his last name too. Everyone always assumes I was named after him but my mom did not even know him when I was born. I am however, extremely happy that we share the same name. 1973-1974 First Grade Picture ======>

I did not always like my name as a child. I absolutely hated the first day of any class in school or when I had a substitute teacher. I did not like being called Theadora --even now it sounds so formal like when my mom used my entire first, middle, and last name when I was in trouble.

I even have my own website called Teddi's Corner. Look up there by my bio pic--there's a link there to get to my site.

I have become completely addicted to Squidoo. I have even created a lens devoted to my Squidoo addiction. I have a number of lenses now since becoming a member in June 2008. Please check them out below.

"My Baby & Kids Freebies lens made it into the Top 100 today!! Woo Hoo"

BIG NEWS - One of my lenses made it to the top 100!

With a lot of hard work & promoting my Baby & Kids Freebies lens made it to the top 100. I can hardly believe it! I can only hope that the ranking stays above 100 for awhile so I can enjoy it for a bit longer. Maybe I will create a lens to chronical how I did it. I did create a lens to give some tips of things I did with my top lens. Click here to check it out.

It took me exactly 43 days to make it in the top 100...

What have I done since high school?

Hmmm.... a lot

I have had a number of things happen to me since high school. I will try to list them chronologically.

* 1988 - I graduated from SMC with an AS degree in Liberal Arts.
* 1991 - I graduated from WMU with a BS degree in Communication.
* 1995 - I became a licensed Realtor with a local real estate company til 2002.
* 2002 - I was a substitute teacher until I decided to go back to college full time to get my teaching certificate.
* 2006 - I received my Masters in Education, from Indiana University.

I have been employed since 2002 as a 7th & 8th grade special education teacher--teaching Language Arts.

With all those feathers I just might fly away ~ my 1985 Senior Year Picture

After College

After I made the decison to go back to college (after 10 years with no classes) & on the FAST TRACK I literally found out I was pregnant while taking my first class. The FAST TRACK slowed down for a year when I gave birth to my son, Taylor, in 2002. I waited longer than most to have a child and it is absolutely a wonderful & rewarding experience being a mother.

Married in Las Vegas in our Levi Jeans

No stress and for under $500

I got married to Albert in Las Vegas while celebrating our 10 yr. anniversary (of being together) in November 2006. We waited a long time to make that decision. So far it has been worth the wait.

I got a beautiful step daughter when I got married

Actually she has been calling me "step mom" since she was 5 - now she is 18

She is on here way to college, living on her own, & becoming self-sufficient. I am very proud of her.

Launching my website... Teddi's Corner

Since becoming a mother in 2002 I have searched high and low to find legitimate baby & kids' freebies, special offers, coupons, deals, samples & helpful resources for myself. As a result, in 2005 I began sharing what I found with others through my own website & groups! I try hard to make sure the sites are "real" and not the ones that you have to fill out surveys and give too much information. My website is called Teddi's Corner.

The site features a number of areas for visitors to find great stuff! It has Legitimate Baby & Kids' Freebies (most popular page), Free Classifieds, College & Financial, Education & Employment, Fundraising, Environmental, Pets, Networking, Affiliate Programs, & More to Come! Eventually I would like my site to develop into a place for visitors to discover resources related to family- before birth to death & beyond.

Along the way I found other sites & resources that I found beneficial so I added them on the site too. The Baby & Kids' Freebies page is the most popular page on my site--and it should be after all that is how my site all began... I have always loved freebies & great resources. I love finding them and sharing them with others!

Making a website was the easiest way to share this information the quickest. In June of 2008 I finally bought my own domain name for my site. http://www.teddiscorner.com

Special Education Teacher

I have been teaching with the same corporation since 2002. In 2007 I was designated as the special education department head Team Leader for my school. I am also a member of the student assistance team and I co-chair the Anti-bullying committee in our building

How I make money online...

To help pay off my huge student loan ($49,000+ now with interest) I decided to get into affiliate marketing online. I have always loved to share what I know with others and it is great to combine sharing information with affiliate marketing. So far I have made enough each month to pay my student loan payment--which is why I started in the first place.

After college I worked in advertising, hotel management, and I was a Realtor for seven years. I can truly say I love what I am doing now. Being a mom, wife, teacher, promoting my website, & affiliate marketing online.

****I also make money from my lenses here on Squidoo and so can you. Please click here for my referral link to join if you are interested. You can keep your royalties all to yourself or give part or all of it to a charity of your choosing.

Hmmm....what is my next goal?

You're Amazing! Love your lens and can't wait to read a lot of others you've created! I'm very glad to have met you on Twitter and hope to communicate with you a lot more. Be a special needs educator must be challenging... my daughter has ADHD and ODD and it's a big challenge keeping her on track. I definitely plan to look over your Tips on How to Get Your Lens Noticed with more Traffic, and your Energy / Environment lenses too. And your Twitter Magipie one as well as it relates to my Twitter Marketing Tools to Boost Business lens.
