A sad story.....
If you're at all familiar with Ted Haggard's story, you've probably already judged the man badly. In 2006, the founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colo., admitted to buying crystal meth and having sex with prostitute Mike Jones. As the leader of the National Association of Evangelicals and a strong supporter of former president George W. Bush, Haggard was against gay marriage and spoke out against homosexuality.
Branded as a hypocrite and exiled by his church, Haggard was forced to move away from his home in Colorado for a year and a half. During that time, documentary filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi followed Haggard with a camera and asked him questions about his life in the wake of the scandal. The results form HBO's upcoming documentary "The Trials of Ted Haggard" (premieres 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29).
This should give you some insight!

- I attended a meeting at New Life Church with a group of homeless people. Peter Wagner had my group of people thrown out of the meeting while Chuck Pierce stood by and watched. This was over them interrupting the worship service to try to collect $85 per seat after Peters then assistant lied to me telling me there were no complimentary seats available. When I arrived with my group there were dozens of unused seats.
Ted saw what happened and was extremely kind and gracious to me. He told me he agreed with my message about love and hospitality and that I was welcome at his church anytime. It put the love of God in my heart for him which has remained there ever since. I deeply regret this entire situation but I can say that Ted was a far better example of Christ's love to me than the other leaders present.
