This is one rockin 'suit'
I generally think of 'suits' as types I wouldn't have much fun around, but, let me tell you - Ted Murphy is one 'suit' who will keep you laughing!
And he keeps me laughing all the way to the bank!

Exclusive Interview with Ted Murphy
Lisa Marie Mary asks Ted Murphy some very special questions
1. What did you want to be when you grew up?I come from a family of entrepreneurs and have always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I believe the entrepreneurial spirit is in my blood. (Photo attached--->)
2. Do you consider yourself a grown-up today?
I would say I have the responsibilities and mental capacity of a grown-up but the spirit and passion of a child. As people grow older they gain knowledge but that knowledge often comes with the price of fear. Fear of the known, fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of judgement... all of these make us less ambitious. I have been able to keep my fears at bay which allows me to openly explore unconventional opportunities be they in life, business or creative expression.
3. Do people in your family 'get' PayPerPost? Or do you, like me, have to back it up as far as ..."A blog is an online journal...."
My family is more technologically savvy than most, my father often gives me advice on new features.
4. What was in your head as you graduated high school? Were you thinking, 'ok, now it's time to go out there and show the world what I'm made of, I'm gonna be the CEO of all these companies, etc..' or was it more along the line of 'hrmph, I guess I'll go to college now..' (like so many of us! Haha!)
I started my first business when I was in high school. I sold T-shirts and hand made necklaces and bracelets that I designed. I knew that I would have another business in college but I wasn't sure what it would be at that point.
5. Do you always want to live in Florida?
I have asked myself that question a million times. I really like Florida. The quality of life is high and the cost of living is low. However, I have traveled to a number of places I might consider in the future. San Francisco and Vail and Lake Tahoe are currently at the top of my list.
6. PayPerPost has made an amazing difference in my life, along with everything that's happened as a result of my association with PPP. Connections I've made, opportunities that have come my way, and everything I've learned about blogging, coding, marketing - it's just been awesome! And because of all of this, I'm not at some crap job, with a lovely little cap on pay, away from my kids, etc. There are many people just like me who've benefited immensely - how does that make you feel?
That is one of the things that gets me out of bed in the morning. I know we are changing lives and it is incredible to be a part of that. The stories we hear are truly heart warming.
7. Do you think you'll ever re-lease the Big Blue Monster, and if so, do you think you'll ever drive it to Alabama?
I don't think we will get that exact vehicle again, it was too hard to find a place to park.
8. Do you want to have kids someday?
Absolutely. I can see myself having kids in the next couple of years, but I need to slow down a bit first. I want to be there to participate in them growing up.
9. Do you have a vision in your head of starting a whole bunch of new companies throughout your lifetime? Or do you want to have that just-right company that will carry you through your lifetime, and if so, do you think PayPerPost could be it?
I don't know that they have to be new companies, just new ideas. I might be happy running the same company until the day I die a long as the passion for creativity and innovation remain. That is one of the things that make startups so much fun.
10. Did you take honors classes in school?
School was never really my thing. I was a solid B student and didn't really care for many of the classes as they were all too rigid and textbook driven. I excelled in the creative classes such as art, video production and computer programming. I was class president my junior year and vice president of student council my senior year of high school.
11. What kind of impression of you did your high school teachers have? If I found your Algebra II teacher, for instance, what would he/she say about you then/now?
She would probably say he was a smart kid but was easily bored and liked to draw in class.
