We Love Our T-Shirts
T-shirts can be plain apparel or they can make a statement about your lifestyle, hobbies, likes, dislikes, political affiliation, sense of humor, significant other, food choices, religion or just about anything else. The world can tell at a glance where you stand. T-shirts are a firmly entrenched part of our popular culture and a reflection of it.
T-shirts are easy to take care of and comfortable to wear. They have become our national uniform. We love our t-shirts!
T-shirts don't have to make a statement. The T-shirts I'm featuring here are decorated with fairy art. There are adorable Pixie Fairies and beautiful illustrations of enchanted fairy scenes. I hope you enjoy them!

Fairy Illustrations and Pixie Fairies
This lens is about t-shirts and fairy art. I love the art work from the Golden Age of Illustration which lasted from the 1880s until WWII. New techniques had become available and artists of the day produced rich, lush, wonderful creations.Maxfield Parrish is an artist of this era that many are familiar with. He was famous for his use of blue. Howard Pyle, N.C. Wyeth and of course, Norman Rockwell are other artists of the Golden Age of Illustration.
I have brought you some t-shirts with fairy designs from this era. I don't know who the artist is but I'm thinking maybe someone out there can tell me. If you know, leave me a comment.

The Golden Age of Illustration
Artists of the Era, Maxfield Parrish, N.C. Wyeth, Norman Rockwell
My husband once took me to a show of Parrish original works in San Francisco. We drove four hours and got there just as they were closing. They let me in to take a quick look around. I was thrilled!
One small painting, maybe 12" x 12" was going for over a million dollars. This was back in about 1996. It was gorgeous but I'll be content with my prints from the thrift store.

For a self addressed stamped envelope they will send you some free milkweed seeds which are the food of choice for the monarch butterfly.
There is a lot of information here about growing milkweed and growing and attracting butterflies. This is a great project for kids. You can even buy butterflies by the dozen for release at an event such as a wedding.
