Help your Children to tell the time.

This lens is for parents looking for resources to support their primary school children learning to tell the time. Children need to learn time sequentially starting with telling time by the hour, then progressing to half hour, quarter hour and finally to minutes. Children will need to learn analog and digital time.

Below is a list of what I consider to be some of the better resources to support teaching telling the time.

Getting Your Child to Wear a Watch

There are lots of fun childrens watches now days that can help children to tell the time. I like the Flik Flak Swatch Watches. Both my children have had one of these. They come in lots of appealing child designs and you can buy fun new straps as desired. The learning watches have the minutes every fifth minute around the outside of the watch eg. 5, 10, 15 around to 60 at the top of the watch. The minute and hour hands are also different colours making it easy to tell them apart. Flik Flaks are available at Swatch Watch Stores and most department stores or you can try your luck on Ebay below.

This Spongebob Square Pants Time Teacher Watch is has the hands labled hour and minute making it easy to distinguish the two for a child who is learning.
