Snow Comes to Templeton Once a Year in December for Cowboy Christmas
If this isn't enough excitement for our small town, there will also be a Christmas craft faire in the park, with food and toy drives. Of course, Farmers Market will be there as usual in the morning, so I can pick up my broccoli, persimmons, onion, and lettuce. But first I will take pictures. As I expected, with so many unusual festive events taking place, I have to park much farther away than usual.
Here I am at the park.

“But where is the snow?”
Here's the snow! In the back corner of the park.

It's designed so you have to walk past a lot of Craft Faire booths to get to the snow. I think the idea is that as the kids try to throw snowballs at each other, one parent might watch while the other shops. Dads seem to do the most watching while moms seem to do the most shopping.
The Craft Faire covers a lot more territory than the snow area.
So we'll spend some time walking around to see what we can see.

I'm hoping Santa will bring me a video camera for Christmas, but until he does, you'll have to imagine you are listening to Monte Mills and his Lucky Horseshoe Band. Monte not only has had his band for 33 years, he also shoes horses. Read more about him and buy his CD's at The Monty Mills web site.
Meanwhile, imagine that you are hearing everything from country music to the national anthem and Christmas carols as we walk through the craft faire and Farmers Market. Sometimes the crowd is singing along.

This was the first booth we saw as we entered the craft area on our way to search for snow.
The Sound of Music Leads Me to My Favorite Booth
Meet Amaya, her violin, and her art work.

I have to give this young entrepreneur credit. With all the competition in the many booths, she found a way to be unique by playing her violin. When you looked for the violin, you found Amaya playing it, and in front of her was this table displaying her Christmas cards for sale.
She's quite an artist. Don't you think so? If you'd like to know how to buy her cards, use the contact me link and give me your contact information. I'll get it to her.
Farmers Market in Early December
It's still delicious.
Winter features some of my favorite vegetables: carrots, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower. This vendor has a lovely display.

What do you think of this Templeton winter event?
Now it appears to be part of Templeton's History
I was sorry to learn that this event will not occur in 2011. Perhaps it's too expensive this year. It seems to have been replaced with the SEcond Annual Old Fashioned Christmas on Main Street, which is already over. It seems to be designed to get people downtown to do their shopping, and that probably helps the merchants. Time will tell.
Maybe your town also has a unique way of celebrating. Feel free to share your comments below. You don't have to be a Squidoo member. We like to hear from everyone who stops by.

- I thoroughly enjoyed tagging along on your trip to this Templeton Winter Event. Looked like the kids were enjoying the snow and the Crafts Fair was amazing especially young Amaya. I wish our town continued it's Farmers Market through the winter but it is only during the summer months. You've done an excellent job on this lens and you will certainly enjoy a video camera so hope Santa brings you one. I love my Flip Ultra for these types of events. Blessed by a Squid Angel

- Oh, wow! This looks wonderful! I love craft fairs and the farmers market. Absolutely nothing is as good as homemade. Amaya is quite a little artist! I love her work and I happen to love violin music too!

- Your Templeton Cowboy Christmas looks like fun. I'll bet all the "KIDS" have fun in the snow.
