A Peak into the World through My Eyes
Just the other day I was noticing how all of the people I find most interesting have similar characteristics in common. Not only are most of them successful but also very like minded. For instance, Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Degeneres have totally different personalities but share the same belief that what you focus on with your thought and feeling is what you attract into your experience. Even Janet Jackson, who excites, enlightens, leads and embraces her audience with insights into life's meaning and our deepest feelings. Then there is Tyler Perry and Barack Obama, who are great examples of having a dream and each day taking steps past that dream surpassing their wildest fantasies.
The Teachers of this shift of awareness, Deepak Chopra, Sylvia Browne, Abraham, Jerry & Esther Hicks, and Neale Donald Walsch are just a few of the authors that I've been privileged to be enlightened by. I have been to two of Sylvia Browne's lectures where I also enjoyed author and speaker, Colette Baron-Reid. Sorry to say that the last one was her farewell tour. I have by no means quenched my thirst for knowledge and awareness, but feel like I have only just begun.
I feel as though I haven't experienced enough as my thirst grows. I will travel to the holy land, see the pyramids, walk the great wall of china, maybe even climb a mountain in Tibet. One day I'll get to meet one of these great teachers. For now I'm just enjoying them from a distance.

Most people would think, "okay typical, Barack Obama, the president," but I truly am inspired by Barack Obama. I'm inspired not because of what he can do for this country or what great things he may do in office, but because of his dream to be more that meets the eye. A visionary who is claiming what is rightfully his. A great example of what you can get if you only say, "I AM somebody!"

Oh this day this day! How to explain it? I was there many many hours early. I got up about 4 AM knowing what a day it would be. Already the Subway trains were packed with lines at 4:30 AM. I should have gotten up earlier. It was the coldest day of the year and I believe colder than it had been in years at about 10 degrees all day long. But still we stood! In the lines at the trains, at the gate, at the chance to see our new president make his dream a reality. Even though we were freezing, I could feel the warmth at the National Mall that day. No one shoved, shouted, or sad faces as we waited for our new president. The crowd was singing "We shall overcome", that brought tears to my eyes, and I couldn't believe they didn't freeze right on my cheeks.

Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey, has been in my vocabulary and a house hold name all of my life. I can't remember a time when Oprah wasn't known to me.As Sofia, in the Color Purple, Oprah plays one of the strongest personalities, marrying Albert's son, Harpo, who tries to dominate and beat her, but she fights back giving him a bruise on one eye. This character touched me because my own mother was victim to abuse by my own father, who I still love very much. It showed me at a very young age that it was wrong and I stood up to my father very young, which I came to find out as an older child that I may have been the end of the abuse.
Oprah has also been influential in my life because of the Law of Attraction. Hearing her story of how she found the secret and used it to affirm her role in the color purple opened my eyes further to the potential of the Law of Attraction. Go to Oprah's Story Now
I'm sad to say that Oprah announced on her show with tears in her eyes, November 21, 2009, that she will be retiring and saying goodbye to television after 25 years. The show will not end until 2011. Until then we can get as much inspiration from her shows as we can to fulfill our own lives to the fullest as she surely has.

Sylvia Browne's, Journey of the Soul Series were the first books I read or her many best sellers. These books are the compilation of years of research and books that she's written over the years and finally made a series compiling them into 3 books.She is one of my most influential people because I have read almost everything she's ever written. I can't say that for any other author. The way she writes is so down to earth. As a skeptic herself, she researches anything she can possibly find to provide us with sources that we can be more educated and therefore confident in what she is teaching. I believe Sylvia is a true Master Teacher.

Tyler Perry, known for his comedy is another writer who has captured my attention. I've seen all the movies and again I can't say that for many writers or book authors. His works take me to the extremes of sadness to happiness to all out funny hysterics.
