Top Ten Reasons Why I Love Pendleton, South Carolina

Pendleton SC Is The Best Place To Live And This Is Why I Think So

I have written a lot about my hometown of Pendleton South Carolina and it is mainly because I want the whole world to know what a wonderful place it is.

Now, I am not encouraging everyone to move here but would love to have you come for a visit. You see, I don't want my small historic hometown to become a huge metropolis but I do want it to thrive. So a few of you reading this are welcome to come settle here and purchase one of the lovely homes for sale. You will be treated with a southern hospitality like you have never known. For everyone else, I invite you to come for a visit, enjoy our history, happenings and hospitality along with our quaint shops and restaurants. I think you will be glad you did.

Photo: Several years ago I had the honor of having a plaque with my name on it placed on a bench on the Village Green for my volunteer work. I have my own bench on the village green. Pretty neat, huh!

So, why do I think Pendleton South Carolina is the best place to live. Here are my Top Ten reasons (not in any particular order)!

1. Memories Of Growing Up In Pendleton SC

I grew up in Pendleton during the 1950's and 60's and I have lots of fond memories that I cherish.

3. Pendleton SC Is Rich In History

Pendleton was founded in 1790 and the downtown area is on the historic register. I have always been interested in history and Pendleton has done a magnificent job of preserving our precious history.

Janet Baughman's Mandy Books take place in Pendleton in the 1800's. These books are fiction but have a lot of interesting history information and it is clear that Janet had done a lot of research on Pendleton.

Southeastern Literary Tourism Initiative Writes About Ohme and Pendleton December 2009

Fictional Short Story by Patrick Brian Miller- Search December 2009 for the Ohme Story

Author Patrick Brian Miller of the Southeastern Literary Tourism Initiative has written a fictional short story about Ohme and Pendleton. It is amazing that this talented author was able to capture the spirit of Pendleton without ever visiting our town. He did a lot of research and is extremely creative. I think you will enjoy this story on his blog - click this link to read the entire story. Click here to visit his blog and if you would like to read the Ohme Story, it was posted December 2009.
