- One tough aspect of green parenting: The "If it's yellow, let it mellow; if it's brown flush it down" concept. You can't really teach kids not to flush the toilet! They might get too liberal with that!

I would like to FEATURE your lens in my Parenting Group! Parenting on Squidoo. I'll even create a special category just for you. If you want to look at the group and make a feature suggestion as to why category would be good for your lens (one already there or a new one) that would be great!

- We can agree to disagree...
But I can't afford to take any chances with mercury powder around my babies, even if the experts 'think' there is no risk. Since they can't prove that there is no risk if my kids are exposed, I'd rather err on the side of caution, you know?

- Congrats on LOTD.
You forgot the most green thing that any mom can do, breastfeed. I'm a breastfeeding mommy. That means no formula to buy, no plastic bottles, and no energy to sanitize or warm up bottles. If every mom breastfed and put formula and bottle companies out of business we'd really cut down on our environmental impact.

- I had been reading about #7. I think they purposely haven't talked about it because they just want us all to accept the new bulbs and move to them. People need to be aware; even if we use them we need to know how to deal with them!

- morphriz morphriz Aug 5, 2008 @ 4:58 pm
- #7 is a controversial one for most, but it doesnt have to be. Do a google search for LED lighting. The purchase price is abit above that of the CFL but they use _even less_ energy and _last longer_! And of course, they dont use mercury at all.

Totally need improvement on #7 and #9. Great list!
