Thailand family travel is ideal primarily in the months of November to February. This is the peak tourist time in the country. April and May are known to be extremely hot. June sees the onset of the monsoons, which let off only in October. Traveling during the monsoons is not advisable for first time travelers. Even in the more comfortable months of November-February it is quite warm and humid, as Thailand is characterized by a tropical climate.

But despite this, Thailand sees travelers almost all through the year. In Thailand family travel is only one of the reasons why tourists arrive. For many, Thailand holds great religious significance. Buddhists, in particular, are drawn to the country by its many magnificent pagodas.

The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is one of the foremost tourist spots in the country. The temple is abode for a Buddha statue elevated 65 cm off the ground and made entirely of jasper quartz or jade. While the statue dates back to the 15th century, the murals on the walls in the temple go back to the 18th century. The temple compound also houses a Coin Pavilion and the Royal Thai Decorations. The temple is held very sacred among Buddhists, and draws much awe and respect from visitors one and all.

The Wat Pho temple near the Temple of the Emerald Buddha is also worth visiting, as it is said to be the largest and the oldest Buddha temple over there. The temple houses a 46-meter long statue of a reclining Buddha, as well as the largest collection of Buddha statues anywhere in the country. Services such as a refreshing massage are also to be had within the temple premises.

If you are in Bangkok there are a number of hot tourist spots that you should not miss. Do visit the Vinmanmek Teak Mansion, known to be the largest building in the world to be made of teakwood. The Royal Elephant Museum and Dusuit Zoo are also well-known tourist spots.

Bangkok is known to many travelers as the shopping hub of Southeast Asia. With markets to provide for your every need, you are also liable to strike bargain deals on the streets of Bangkok. Chatuchak Market, or the Weekend Market as it is known to many, opens only on Saturdays and Sundays, and offers a different shopping experience altogether. The Pak Khlong Market and a number of smaller markets in the Chinatown area and Phahurat district are also quite well-known.

So, how does Thailand sound as a vacationing option with your whole family? Pack your bags and go now!!
