There are many splendid beaches with private resorts away from the normal tourist crowds that are easily reached by a boat ride of from 10 minutes to 1 day from Phuket Island. Phuket itself is bigger than the island of Singapore and also has some splended uncrowded beaches.
Those who are looking for more than just laying on the beach there are lots of activities you can partake in. Snorkeling is the favorite with many hard and soft corals along with colorful fish that can be seen in crystal clear water right in front of your bungalow. Island hopping with snorkeling is a great way to enjoy the many beautiful beaches and caves in the Andaman Sea.
From Phuket you can take a great full day Sea Canoe adventure in beautiful Phang Nga Bay exploring caves and lagoons.
Phi Phi Island is the best place to make your base for Island Hopping. The Island has wonderful accommodations and surrounded by excellent coral reefs and other islands with beautiful clear water and sugar white sandy beaches.
Scuba diving is another water sport that is excellent to partake in both for the beginner and expert. Big Game Sport Fishing shouldn't be missed as the waters of the Andaman Sea are favored by anglers from around the world for its Sailfish, Marlin, Wahoo and Tuna.
