The Land of smiles......
The Kingdom of Thailand lies in Southeast Asia, with Laos and Cambodia to its east, the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia to its south, and the Andaman Sea and Myanmar to its west. The country's official name was Siam until 1939. It was again called Siam between 1945 and 1949, when it was once again changed by official proclamation. The word Thai means "freedom" in the Thai language and is also the name of the majority ethnic group.
Over the last few decades, Thailand's capital city, Bangkok, has changed into a modern, exciting and sophisticated city. It offers to visitors not only the cosmopolitan amenities they would expect from other big cities, but also a unique treasure trove of cultural attractions. Thailand, in the heart of Southeast Asia, was never colonised and thus kept its unique culture and heritage intact. Bangkok offers visitors the opportunity to experience fascinating glimpse of Thailand's gentle culture amidst the bustle of a great and dynamic metropolis. This great city has had astounding success in combining the ancient and modern world.
For tourists, Bangkok has a feast of attractions to offer. The city is dotted with 400 glittering Buddhist temples of great beauty, magnificent palaces, classical dance extravaganzas, numerous shopping centres and traditional ways of life, especially along the "Venice of the East" timeless canals and the Chao Phraya River, or the "River of Kings" winding through the city. It is worth taking a trip along its waters before exploring further into different canals to take a glimpse of old Bangkok.
Arranging for your families travel needs can be a huge job. Airline tickets, hotels, rent-a-car's, the list seems to go on forever. You can make this job much easier by choosing a travel team with a fantastic selection, a great reputation, and outstanding customer service.
How's your Tuk-tuk?
Relax, it's just a taxi......
One of the quickest ways to get around in Bangkok, is by "tuk-tuk". These are small 3-wheeled motorcycle/taxis that can get you just about anywhere in a hurry. The traffic can get pretty thick here at times, but these little vehicles can zip in and out of it all very quickly. Traveling in Thailand

- Your right: tuk tuks are crazy. Driving a motorcycle there may be even crazier. If you are heading up north to Chiang Mai on your Thailand vacation and want to do something in the mountains, Flight of the Gibbon has these Thailand packages: biking, climbing and rafting. I can personally attest to some of the guides are really fun and safety conscious. It is beautiful up in that area too.
