While my dad put another log on the fire....
My Mom, my brother and I were set at the couch with a blanket to keep us cosy and warm. My Dad sat down in his armchair next to the fire, and started telling us the story of thanksgiving. We all had a mug with hot chocolate, and we listened breathlessly. Every year Dad would give the story a new twist, and every thanksgiving we would be anxious to know what he would tell.
As the evening grew older, and the candles grew smaller, Dad's story would slowly come to an end. We would plea for more, for yet another paragraph of the story which only existed in his mind...
When I now think back, I feel sorry that I never asked him to write his wonderul stories down. My brother and I can maybe remember one or two, and every Thanksgiving we invent new stories for our children.
Because I feel sorry that I cannot remember the stories of my dad, I decided to make a site for Thanksgiving stories. If you have special Thanksgiving stories from your family, please send them to me, we will make an e-book and send it to all contributors. Wouldn't that be great, our own Thanksgiving Story book?
Will you promise me one thing: That you will read stories to your children, just as my parents did to us, and probably your parents did to you. We can make the world a better place, and this would be a good start, don't you think?

- Every year my 6 older brothers and sisters would all migrate over to moms house around 11:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. We would not eat a thing for breakfast as our Thanksgiving meal was very gracious and it happened around 4:00 p.m. A group of us would all pack up in trucks and head up to the San Antonio mountains of Southern California and hike Bear Canyon. It was around 5 or so miles round trip but just talking and laughing throwing pine cones at one another was so fun. I had 3 older brothers and all there girlfriends and boyfriends used to go. We would make it back around 3:45 just in time for this gloirous spread of food! Turkey and ham, scallop potato's, mashed potato's and gravy, cheesy vegtables, green beans, cranberry, salad and warm homemade bread rolls out of the oven.
As the years pass some people are not at the table anymore but we always have our memories of them!
Peace and love on Thanksgiving!

- thanksgiving is the time of year for family and love. it's great to set aside at least one time a yr when you reflect about all that you have to be thankful for. for most people it is alot more than they think.
