Who are we?
That Yarn Store is a neighborhood family owned yarn store in wonderful Eagle Rock, California.
*Did you say family owned*
Yup, it's run by two parents, two offspring (a strange word, but I didn't want to say children), and a brother/son in law/husband, depending on who you talk to.
What's your story?
Hmmmm, a bit short, isn't it.
The reason why we opened the shop is slightly different every day, and depends on who you ask, but every agrees that we opened it because we as a family love to craft.
There were few knitting stores in Northeast LA, where we live, and we really wanted a place where we could buy yarn that was comfortable and friendly. The word "community" is thrown around a lot by businesses, including us, but it really is true in our case, just come in on a Sunday, and you'll find out the wonderful knitting community that has been built around us.
Groups
Sundays started off as a few people coming in to listen to Prairie Home Companion, but it has since turned into a monster (in a good way). Unfortunately we no longer play Prairie Home as the group is so large everyone would be yelling. Sundays are great fun, people bring in some food and their projects and talk and craft and laugh.
We have many other groups such as our Sock Group Saturday at 3:00.

The Other Most Important Thing About Us
You are welcome to bring your projects in and use the store as a place to relax and be crafty (but please, only during business hours).

Classes
We have knitting, crochet, sewing, spinning, and sometimes other fun stuff like jewelry making.
Some of our classes are group classes, but many of the people choose to do our "courses", which are one-on-one classes designed to teach you whatever you want to learn (sounds enticing, doesn't it?)
Take a lookie at our Workshops page for more info.
