From a college professor
"As a college professor I can say that the 5000 Year Leap is one of the best books I've ever read, and this includes all categories of books! It is well written, well documented, and extremely relevant to our everyday lives. If we do not understand U.S. history and the real story behind the founding documents and the founding principles that made this nation so great then we are in real danger of losing our freedoms and liberties that are so precious to all of us. This is a must read for all citizens who want to understand why we have the best form of government in history!"

A "Living" Constitution?
The Constitution is based on Natural Law
Today you will often hear how the Constitution was not made for an advanced civilization such as ours. It was made for simpler more agrarian times. It is not true. This is used as justification to change something inconvenient about the Constitution. The Constitution is based on Natural Law and that does not change. The inalienable rights given to us by our Creator are based in Natural Law. They cannot be taken away. Rights that are given to us by the government can be taken or given on the government's whim. The Constitution was not meant to be a living document to be changed when it becomes inconvenient. It was most carefully, studiously, and thoughtfully constructed to withstand the test of time.

A Review from a satisfied customer
The 5000 Year Leap should be required reading
"I have a masters degree in Political Science with a focus on Constitutional Law. I say this only to put in perspective the following comments:
This is a book that every citizen and every High School student should be required to read before graduation.
Excellent description of how our founding forefathers analyzed history and created this great document (The Constitution) that founded this republic.
After understanding the founding, then we can see how we have incrementally abandoned this document.
Buy this book for your HS and College students and require them to read it, but first read it yourself."

Amazon reviews The 5000 Year Leap
"For many years in the United States there has been a gradual drifting away from the Founding Fathers original success formula. This has resulted in some of their most unique contributions for a free and prosperous society becoming lost or misunderstood. Therefore, there has been a need to review the history and development of the making of America in order to recapture the brilliant precepts which made Americans the first free people in modern times.
In this book, discover the 28 Principles of Freedom our Founding Fathers said must be understood and perpetuated by every people who desire peace, prosperity, and freedom. Learn how adherence to these beliefs during the past 200 years has brought about more progress than was made in the previous 5000 years. Published by National Center for Constitutional Studies, a non-profit organization." ( Review from Amazon)

The 5000 Year Leap, A "Must Read"
"A must read for every citizen of this country!!
The author synopsizes the very voluminous record of the process the founding fathers used in founding this nation and succinctly lays out the 28 principles developed by those fathers for use in their deliberations during the process. His writing style is clear, crisp and very readable by people of all ages. I wish this book had been available as I was going through my formal education period, more than 50 years ago. How fortunate we are to have it available today.
I am an engineer/scientist (read that: "nerd"), but have a keen interest in history, especially American history. I bought one book from Amazon, but after reading it I have purchased many more copies to give to my friends, especially educators and students. There are many excellent books about individual founding fathers and the broad spectrum of beliefs they brought to the party. This book gives a definitive view of how they came together and thrashed out the basis for developing our constitution. I believe they did a pretty good job!"

Classes based on The 5000 Year Leap
Principles of Freedom 101
My husband and I are taking a class called Principles of Freedom 101, based on this book. We both thought we were pretty well informed on this subject but we both have learned so much! It is sad to see how many of the founding principles have been twisted, perverted and made to mean something that was not intended. Most of the ills of our modern society could be cured if we could go back to living by the Constitution. You may purchase this course for about $50 at the National Center for Constitutional Studies. It comes on 6 DVDs.
