Every day brings something new and tasty to the Hilltop area of Virginia Beach. Just Cupcakes has grown quite a following in its first year of business, with delicious chocolate and Oreo, red velvet and coconut varieties. Flavors change regularly, and if you follow them on Facebook and Twitter you'll get a heads up on specials and new temptations.

Just Cupcakes also takes large orders on their website, so if you're planning a party be sure to order ahead!

Twisted Sisters Cupcakes

Yes! Virginia Beach now has its own cupcake truck. The Twisted Sisters of the beach drive this delightfully pink van around town, selling the most unique and delicious cupcakes this side of the peninsula. Here's the thing, though: if you want their goods, you have to find them first! Luckily, they are on Twitter at @TSCupcakes and on Facebook updating their schedules and menus. Brave the traffic and try one of these twisted treats!

Red Mill residents don't have to drive too far for their cupcake fix. Back Bay Gourmet, a specialty grocer and caterer in Red Mill Walk, makes delicious varieties of cupcakes daily. If you don't mind a day-old flavor, they may have some at a reduced price, otherwise get there early for treats like almond or red velvet to finish off any of their amazing sandwiches.

Flour Child Bakery

Flour Child Bakery is located off Pleasure House road near the Mejor Rodeo Mexican Restaurant. This is a full service bakery, and yummy cupcakes is just one of the types of treats you can get here. They offer seasonal favorites and traditional flavors like chocolate and red velvet, and if you're especially daring you can try the wicked brownies - made with sea salt and spicy pepper!

Cupcake Central

Cupcake Central recently moved from the Virginia Beach Farmer's Market to the Lynnhaven Mall, because they've grown too popular to be contained in their original location! Cupcake Central boasts 41 flavors (take that, Baskin and Robbins!) and now has later hours, so you don't have to rush through traffic to get homemade cupcake goodness. You can order cupcake cakes, large amounts for parties, and even "spiked" cupcakes with a bit of adult beverage in the mix.
