Introducing The Cab

The Cab is a rock band from the US state of Nevada, this page has been set up in order to tell you the story so far and to reveal all about what the band has got up to over these last few years since forming in 2004.

Read on to find out more about the band, feel free to listen to the music video for the band's 'I'll Run' track, and also don't forget to leave a comment in the guestbook at the bottom of the page should you feel so inclined. It'd be excellent to hear from you, and I very much look forward to seeing what you have to say about the band. So let me keep you here no longer, read on to find out more, and if you're after the band's official website or Myspace page then I've supplied links toward the bottom of the page just above the guestbook.

All About The Cab

The Cab is an American rock band from Las Vegas, the band has been together since 2004 and released its debut album through Fueled By Ramen/Decaydance Records on May 7th 2008. The band was signed to Decaydance in May 2007 when a demo of the band's was passed on to Panic at the Disco's Spencer Smith. The band hadn't even graduated from high school at the time, they did so shortly after, but at the time of signing for Decaydance were still High School seniors. In high school there are a lot of bands hoping and dreaming of success, for The Cab their dream became a reality however and getting signed by Decaydance must have made graduation all the more special for these five friends from Nevada.

The band actually released its first EP in 2006 under the title of 'Drunk Love', in 2007 it then released its second EP 'Glitz And Glamour' in 2007, and when the news was received that the band would be joining the Decaydance ranks, I'm sure that recording an album would have been very high on the priority list of the band's members. It shouldn't have come as too much of a surprise when debut album 'Whisper War' was released in 2008, it's an uplifting pop rock album from the band and will surely be the start of something truly special.

The five members of The Cab are all still very young, they've got good heads on their shoulders however and are surrounded by strong company at Decaydance. The band collaborated with Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump for a couple of tracks on their debut album and one of the tracks also features Panic at the Disco's Brendon Urie. The band has friends in high places, and having already featured on a number of high profile tours; there has been no time really for the five members feet to touch the floor since the papers were signed and Decaydance became home. The band has already toured with the likes of We the Kings, Metro Station, Charlotte Sometimes, and Forever the Sickest Kids, and also has found time to tour with label mates Cobra Starship, This Providence, Hey Monday, and A Rocket To The Moon. As of October 2008 the band has upped its game even more though through touring with Panic At The Disco, Dashboard Confessional, and the Plain White T's; not bad for a band that was still in high school only 18 months ago.

The band's tour schedule is likely to be kept quite heavy for the foreseeable future; there's a lot of promotion to be done when a new album is first released, and with 'Whisper War' only having been released in April 2008; it's still very fresh. Life on the road can be tough at times, it's always made worthwhile though when you enter a gig venue and there hundreds of fans screaming your name; something that The Cab has got very used to lately.

The Cab is a band tipped by many to have great success in the future, the talent is most certainly there and all the band needs now are the breaks. Success doesn't tend to come easy, if The Cab plays its cards right however then I feel that the major success will soon be here for the band. 'Whisper War' is just the start of it all and there are likely to be many more excellent albums to come yet.

With two EPs already recorded and an album also; The Cab is a band with a lot more to give yet, many albums are still left in the band and time shall only tell as to how many copies these albums will sell. The world is the band's oyster and The Cab has the potential to sell millions. The Cab is a band that all should listen to, and if you don't yet own the 'Whisper War' album then you should probably see about correcting that situation sharpish; you certainly won't regret the decision to add it to your collection and the chances are that 'Whisper War' will be an album you'll listen to time and time again for many months/years to come.
