The Dukes of Hazzard
The Dukes of Hazzard followed the adventures of The General Lee and its two good ol' boy drivers, Bo and Luke Duke. Together with their cousin Daisy and good old Uncle Jesse they chucked and jived the law in a modern day Robin Hood fashion.
Every week Bo and Luke Duke were framed with mock charges dreamt up by the portly Boss Hogg and his incompetant sheriff Rosco P Coltrane. The consequences of which was many extravagant car chases around the fictional county of Hazzard.
Moonrunners
In 1975 a film called the Moonrunners was released, its main characters Grady and Bobby Lee Hagg run moonshine for their Uncle Jesse. Sounds familiar don't it?
The film was written and directed by Gy Waldron who went on to create The Dukes of Hazzard television series.
Waylon Jennings who played the Balladeer became the narrator of The Dukes of Hazzard.

The reason I say The Dukes of Hazzard followed the adventures of The General Lee is because it was the most popular of the cast members receiving over 50% of all the shows fan mail.
I also refer to it as a 68/69 Dodge Charger because 309 Chargers were used in the show, usually more than 1 a show. Due to the length of the jumps the car would simply cave in when it landed, so the cars had to be rebuilt or just simply scrapped and move onto the next.

Bo and Luke Duke
Their other punishment was very sketchy and seemed to change from episode to episode depending on what the story needed and that was they weren't allowed to cross the state line or that they had to back in Hazzard state at curfew time.
Even though they shared the ownership of the General Lee, Bo Duke did most of the driving.

Daisy Duke
Daisy's car in the first two series' was a 1974 Plymouth Road Runner with a black stripe along the sides and over the roof (replaced by a 1971 Plymouth Satellite with a matching "Road Runner" stripe painted behind the rear window). The car was destroyed in season 2 when the brakes failed on Bo and Luke but due to the show being shot in a different order than it was broadcasted the car still made a few more appearances after it was killed. Later in the series Daisy was given a present of a 1980 Jeep CJ-7 "Golden Eagle" named The Dixie.Even though Boss Hogg was the Dukes nemesis he still employed Daisy as a waitress in his bar/restaurant The Boars Nest.

Uncle Jesse
The only person in the series that didn't call Jesse Uncle Jesse was Boss Hogg.
Jesse Duke, in his youth, had been a moonshine "ridge-runner", in direct competition with J.D. Hogg-thus beginning the "feud" between the Dukes and the Hoggs. It should also be noted that Jesse made the best 'shine' in all of Hazzard County (and probably the world) and J D was always trying to con him into running off yet another batch so that he could steal it and lock up the Duke Boys.

Boss Hogg
Boss Hogg was named after the Confederate President Jefferson Davis who was president during the American Civil War.
Boss Hogg wore a snow white three piece suit with a matching cowboy hat and was chauffeured about in a triple white 1970 Cadillac De Ville convertible, with steroe-typical large bull horns for a hood ornament. This angelic colouring though did not reflect his personality as creator Gy Waldron said he wanted the character to be the personification of the Seven deadly sins.
Boss Hogg was driven by greed and would stop at nothing to increase his own personal fortune whilst Bo and Luke and the rest of the Duke clan would try and foil his (and Roscoe's) plans.

Deputy Enos
Enos had a crush on Daisy and because of this he inadvertently helped the Dukes boys out of their fixes with Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe. He didn't think what the Boss and Roscoe did was right but he always followed their orders.
Enos left the show in 1980 to star in his own show 'Enos' but it never really got off the ground so he returned to Hazzard County and resumed his original role.
Come And Get Us Mama - Jack Robertson
This song came out back in my Radio Days and it got a lot of air play back then too. Later when I started UZ-TV I decided to play the music video on the air as well. One cool feature is the music video guest stars Deputy Enos from The Dukes of Hazzard Tv Show. Jack's playing a lot these days at The World Famous Flora-Bama Lounge on Perdido Key.

Sheriff Rosco
On the American TV series The Dukes of Hazzard, Rosco Purvis Coltrane is the bumbling sheriff of Hazzard County and right-hand man of its corrupt county commissioner, Jefferson Davis "J.D." Hogg ("Boss Hogg").
The role of Rosco is played by James Best, who had appeared in numerous movies and TV series before landing the role as top (inept) lawman of Hazzard County.

Grab a seat and order a beer, but be careful not to make improper advances on Daisy unless you want to be part of a good ol' bar brawl.
