The Elf on the Shelf is a delightful Christmas tradition for young families. Our grandchildren have totally enjoyed the Elf on the Shelf this year. They named their elf on the shelf doll Gerald. It's been fun to hear the children, ages 5 and 6, talk about where they found Gerald each day. Our six year old introduced me to Gerald and warned me sternly not to touch him - touching him removes his magic!

This is a delightful book to present to families with preschoolers - I would strongly suggest you give it to them at Thanksgiving or at some point in the year before Christmas! - I do library storytimes on the bookmobile when we visit county preschools. In December, I visited one center and all 20 of the kids couldn't stop talking about their Elf on the Shelf and were quite excited to show him to me when I went inside to deliver their books. I liked it so much that I had to buy one when I found it 75% off during the after Christmas sales. The Elf now tortures my dogs. =0)

- Haven't read Elf on the Shelf, but I do have a Christmas elf. He's in pretty bad shape, but I don't have the heart to toss him out, as he was a gift from a childhood friend.

- We have a 9 yr old and two 8 yr olds. To hear them talking about where their elf was this morning is so much fun. They love their elf and I think it is so neat to add to their imagination. This was a great lens and fun to look through all the ideas. Here is a little SquidooAngel Dust and a wish for a wonderful holiday season.
