Volume II: Traveling Across the U.S.A.

The Journal of the Traveling Squid is a project that was started more than a year ago by Giant Squid and lensmaster extraordinaire, JaguarJulie. The original journal was signed by Julie, then sent to Gordon Hamilton in the United Kingdom, where it has been passed along from lensmaster to lensmaster ever since. Due to the popularity of the project, Julie recently launched Volume II in the United States. I am recipient number six—the journal has previously been in the hands of Gil (as in giltotherescue), Kimberly Dawn Wells, Seth Godin (yes... THAT Seth), Corey Brown, and Susan52. Please join me as I take The Journal of the Traveling Squid and the Giant Squid T-shirt on a scenic tour of Hollywood, California.

You will notice I did not put the shirt down on the Walk of Fame. It was pretty filthy. Grauman's was pristine... probably gets a good washing down each evening. I imagine the shirt will need a good tumble and dry when it reaches its final destination :)

I cannot help but wonder if the shirt has been laundered? If it ever gets to the South, it might need a good washing.

My daughter lived in LA for a year when she graduated college in 2003. I visited her and got to go to the Rose Bowl Flea Market! A dream come true.

Great lens! I enjoyed this visit to Hollywood and you.

When I lived in Studio City, I maintained an annual pass to Universal Studios. Parking was free and I could go up there any time to write or just hang out with friends. Next time you visit, try to take the Metro. It stops right at Universal Studios and the station is beautiful. It also stops downtown at Union Station, where you can visit Olvera Street.

I've been to hollywood once and didn't see enough! We went on an overnight trip and saw the walk of fame/ graumanns theater but spent most of our time in Universal Studios which we absolutely loved!!! Next time I go back I will be the typical tourist and do the Pretty Woman tour though :) Love the lens.
