Out of This World
The Last Remnant features a brand new battle system labelled by Hiroshi Takai (director) as a "Turn-based, command-based system using symbol encounters." In addition to the main character, the player's team (called a "Union") is composed of a number of soldiers whose skills vary according to different parameters. One parameter is the "morale" bar, which is affected by the events in battle and affects the way characters perform in battle. (continue)

This past week Square Enix released a boat load of screen shots that give off some information about the game. If you're unfamiliar with the story it's your basic, young adult has series of events happen that lead him on an epic journey through foreign lands where he meets a cast of characters both good and evil, in an effort to reclaim something that was taken/stolen/lost.

Poll: Which next-gen console currently has the best JRPGs?
I think the 360 has the better JRPG lineup right now...but will it stay that way in 2009? IMO, the PS3 has a better titles in the pipeline but the JRPGs on the 360 are definitely intriguing.
360 JRPG: Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, Spectral Forces 3, Star Ocean 4, Cry On
PS3 JRPG: Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Disgaea 3, Valkyria Chronicles, White Knight Story
Wii JRPG: Tales of Symphonia 2, FF: Crystal Chronicles, Rune Factory Frontier, Arc Rise Fantasia

The Last Remnant or Infinite Undiscovery?
A lot of fans are really torn on which RPG to buy. Honestly, this game and Infinite Undiscovery are both just incredible to me. Since they are both from Square Enix, I'm having a hard time deciding which one I'll play first this holiday season.
Which game is the better RPG, Infinite Undiscovery or Infinite Undiscovery?

the last remnant is a turn based tactical rpg, with an incredible story of polotics and growth with lose sprinkled on top along with epic cutscenes, infinate undiscovery is a action-time battle system with an emotional story of lose and perserverance. both games include customization options for items etc but in my opinion the last remnant wins because it is in no way repetitive unlike infinate

i have recently competed both of them and being a fan of square soft and now that there suare enix i still have found the finial fantasy games to be the best i have played with a few excpetions as for these two games infinite undiscoveries is not a very good game as you use the same amount of fighting and has bo variations in the way that you play whereas the last remant has a much better pliot line fighting and becames a much harder game to start offf with as well as a classic such as the finial fantasy games

tlr was just badass. the battle system was great even though a few missions needed to be tweaked because you coulndt diversify you troops or move them to certain places unless it told yout to. besides that, the story was amazing and the extra missions were fun. it was a really hard game though

Infinite Undiscovery

The last remnant is a great game but i prefer the battle system and story line on infinite undiscovery, it gives a greater feel of adventure and has alot of emotion behind the dialogue

GRIMES JR 1989 (xbox 360 name) says:
both are propa good RPG's i completed infinite undiscovery on hard mode the other day and it was insane but the last remnant i cant get a hold of propa the gaming is propa tactical and you got to think about what moves would be best of destroying your target.

Stefan says:
i think Infinite Undiscovery reason being because the battle system is really good and the story was solid to an extent and if not the battle system that keeps you entertained its the story and if not the story its the wicked combo system, Japanese Tri-Ace really know how a JPRG should appel to western audiances

I expected pretty graphics and even prettier cinematics, but The Last Remnant is just about the best-looking RPG I have ever played. Initially I would have written The Last Remnant off, but thankfully it improves loads once you have given it some time to become one of the best games of its type. What do you think? Be the first one to review The Last Remnant (Xbox 360) and share your experience with the gamer community!

I have no idea how the xbox version is but I love the PC version.
I'm running intel pentium 3 dual core with 4 gig 1066 ddr 2 ram, nvidia 9600 pcie vid card and sata hd and I've seen NO stuttering so far with max settings both in and out of the game (with nvidia things like 16xQ anisotropic flitering etc).
I do find the limited control of battles at times, I had a helluva hard time with Dominator for example. But in the end this makes you rethink who you are pairing together and it also makes one consider which formations are best. This being said if there was a way to change formations during battle, this would indeed be almost perfect a game.
I do notice at times a slight delay with graphic detail after say loading a new map, everything is detailess for me for like 1 second, but other then that the graphics are amazing.

yeah the dificulty reaches kind of a bump with eagles nest. actually its more than that. eaggles nest wasnt too bad for me, just do extra missions and you should get good enough. also take out the farthest subordinates fist then go for the bosses. get really good though casue it just gets a lot harder... ************KIND OF SPOILER********* the next boss fight start the final one on disc 1. it tiggers a chain of i think 4 rediculous consectutive boss fights... it was terrible. you can only save before the last 1. it just get harder on disc 2. either way, *********END OF "SPOILER"********* it was still and amazing game though. im stuck in disc 2 right now but ill be done by the end of today. if you get stuck on the 360 version freind me and ask about it.
