If you are environmentally conscious, have health concerns, or just want to be clean without stinking up the place using products that contain fragrances, you will want to use Bon Ami. It does not contain chlorine, dye or perfume, so it is less polluting during the manufacturing process, which in turn makes it less likely to harm the environment during or after use.

The other day, in the very early hours of the morning, I was sitting up with my dog. She was sick so I stayed up and watched tv with her to make sure she was okay.

Use their one laundry sheet that has everything, instead of buying all these other products and having bottles of products taking up room on the shelf and extra money. Then they had in letters on the tv screen "We are being taught to use more products." What a profound statement! And it came from a commercial!

After that commercial, another one came on. The commercial was on baby wipes and now they have 3 kinds for 3 different wiping situations with babies! From messy, to light, to just dabbing. And isn't it wonderful how you can have all 3 so you are prepared to pick the right one for the appropriate mess your baby just made?!!! ARGHHH!!! A fine example of "we are being taught to use more products"!

People are using too many things, society has been brainwashed into thinking you need a cleaner for this, a cleaner for that... when good ole soap and a can of Bon Ami will do the job. Varnished wood does not need *canned spray polish/cleaners*!!! It needs a dry damp cloth, that is all. Using *canned spray polish* (you insert the name) and other polishes week after week puts on a polish build-up and makes a mess of things. Vinegar in water for cleaning glass. Oh I could go on. The average person today needs to learn how to clean. One thinks if they are armed with all these products, they are cleaning. uggg. Think of the money wasted. And those of the 50's and 60's generation.... (grin)... don't you just hate it when society tricks you into doing something????

If Bon Ami doesn't contain the harsh detergents, chlorine, bleaches, disinfectants, dyes, perfumes, etc... then how does it work?

Bon Ami Cleaning Powder is the same 1886 formula as their Cleaning Cake, but in powder form. It contains gentle feldspar abrasive for polishing and soap for cleaning all hard surfaces.

Oh my...how to include everything. Well, we just can't make a list that long. Hopefully with the general list we make here, you will see other areas of opportunity to use such an eco-friendly cleanser.

Partial List of what I've personally done:

1. The kitchen sink. I have a stainless steel double sink. I sprinkled Bon Ami around the surface, then used a wet rag and scrubbed, then rinsed well. Buffed to a shiny finish! It looked fantastic.

2. Stainless steel utensils. Sprinkled Bon Ami on a damp cloth and rubbed utensils (spoons, forks, ect.) Rinsed and washed per usual.. again they came out with a wonderful shine! I'll have to post a before and after picture here for you.

3.Dull stainless steel pots and pans. I wet the inside of the pan, sprinkled Bon Ami and used a wet cloth. Had to use some elbow grease, too, but after rinsing well and drying.. I could see my reflection in the pot!

4. Coffee Mugs. Wet a cloth, sprinkle with Bon Ami and rub the stains away. Rinse well and wash as usual. Made my white mug white again!

Windshield Wipers Are Noisy Or Do Not Clean Properly

Situation:
Windshield wiper blades may start to make noise, or fail to clean the windshield properly, even though the blades are not worn and are properly adjusted.

This can be caused by contaminants on the glass, such as oily road deposits or wax residues from car washes. These contaminants can cause the blades to chatter across the glass or fail to wipe cleanly.

Correction:
Common contaminants that are not removed by conventional glass cleaner can be cleaned with Bon Ami(R), a household cleaning product.

The cleaner should be applied on a wet cloth or sponge and the windshield must be thoroughly and evenly scrubbed. Wipe off residue with a clean,dry cloth before the product dries on the glass.
