The Adventures of Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private
So why not give them their own show - we all love these penguins who made us laugh in the Madagascar big screen movies. Nickelodeon has premiered The Penguins of Madagascar March 2009 for us to enjoy. These penguins are "On a mission without Permission".
Watch and laugh as these guys go on missions in what they think is a Top Secret World.

So what is The Penguins of Madagascar all about?
The show features lots of great Adventures with Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private, four penguins who rule the roost at their Central Park Zoo home. While the brothers have their flippers full keeping their multi-species zoo neighborhood happy, at times their secret missions beckon them to venture out onto the busy streets of New York City. Just as the team thinks it has its urban acreage under control, a new neighbor moves in next door: Julien, King of the Lemurs, a party animal with an entourage and an overactive ego. Much to the penguins' exasperation, King Julien and his friends are there to stay, proving once again that opposites do not attract.
Sounds like we will be laughing really hard watching these shows - these penguins are very entertaining to say the least.
Skipper
Skipper is the leader of the group. He usually barks out orders, names plans, and slaps the others.
He gets his voice from: Tom McGrath
Kowalski
The smartest and tallest of the penguins, Kowalski The smartest of the penguins. He forms plans for the group, but they are often disregarded. He usually takes notes for Skipper.
He gets his voice from: Jeff Bennett
Private
The youngest of the group. He's mostly good at cracking codes, and is often slapped by Skipper. Also loves taking notes for Skipper. He also makes good tuna smoothies, with "love".
He gets his voice from: James Patrick Stuart
Rico
Psychotic knife wizard and explosives expert. Rico somewhat displays a certain talent for the culinary arts. Plus, he has dark circles under his eyes. And boy is he fun!!!
He gets his voice from: John DiMaggio

Here are some Fun Penguin Facts for ya:
* Penguins are flightless birds.* Most penguin babies have fluffy feathers.
* Penguins are able to stay underwater with the help of their bones which are solid and heavy.
* Penguins have a breastbone and huge paddle muscles which help them move at speeds of 25 miles per hour.
* While traveling at fast speeds, penguins leap out of the water every few feet. This action is called "Porpoising." Porpoising helps penguins breathe. The chances of being spotted by another animal is also greatly reduced because of porpoising.
* About 75% of a penguins life is spent in water, where they do all their hunting.
* Most of the time penguins breed in large colonies called rookeries.
* Penguins closer to the Equator feed on fish while those closer to the Antarctica eat more squid and krill.
* Penguins stay warm with the help of a thick layer of blubber and a waterproof body covering.
* Smaller penguins inhabit warmer climates whereas larger penguin species are found in warmer climates.
* Penguins are found on every continent in the southern hemisphere, from the tropical Galapagos Islands off South America to the Antarctica.
* There exist about 18 different species of penguins in the world.
* The natural enemies of penguins are seals and killer whales.
* Adult penguins incubate and feed their chicks in turns, once they have hatched.
* The King and Emperor penguins lay one egg each while other species lay two.
* The fairy penguin is the smallest and is 16 inches tall and weighs 2.2 pounds. The largest is the emperor penguin which is 3.7 feet tall and weighs 60 to 90 pounds.

- I would love to see more Penguins t-shirts. I ran into a woman who who had a great one, but wouldn't you know it, her daughter works for the show! I also agree that the show should run longer; my husband, a police officer, and all his cop buddies love it!

- That is such good news.I loved the Madagascar movies - but the penguins were by far the best bit of it. The big question for me is what species are the Madagascar pengins? I'm guessing that they were Adelie penguins?
