The Salehoo Truth

The Salehoo Truth - and nothing but the truth

I thought I would let people know about the salehoo truth. I have been selling on Ebay for a number of years and I can assure you that success on Ebay does not lie in buying a list of wholesalers and suppliers. If it were that simple then everyone would be doing it.

Over the years Ebay has evolved very rapidly and you have some big names selling on there, everyone is wanting to capitalise on the traffic Ebay generates and during this capitalisation the Ebay marketplace has become a very competitive place indeed. You have to be very careful in where you source your goods from otherwise your Ebay business dream will always remain a dream.

So Whats Wrong With A List Like Salehoo

What I want to point out through the Salehoo truth is that, when you buy a list there is no uniqueness as far as your business is concerned, just as you have gone to Salehoo to buy a list similarly your competitor will goto Salehoo and will get the same suppliers you are buying from. In a conventional world this would work because everyone is very far apart, for example I live in Leicester (a city 100 miles away from London), I contact a wholesaler whose details I got from a wholesale directory, fine. Now someone from London contacts the same wholesaler through the same wholesale directory and buys the same stock, will that affect me? ofcourse not because i am going to sell to the people of Leicester and he is going to sell to the people of London, simple!

But when we bring the internet and specially the Ebay marketplace into play, we will quickly realise that if both of us are going to buy stock from the same source and sell on the same online venue then we have a problem because we are going to have to compete against each other for customers.

This was just an example of 2 people, from just 2 different cities. These wholesale lists are available to everyone across the world, I leave it to your imagination to come up with what the end result is going to be..correct..massive competition.

Where as on the other hand, if you did a bit of research and found someone local to you who was selling something you felt you could sell online, after selling it and being successful you can be rest assured that for sometime you can milk this cow and noone will disturb you because when someone goes to find this stuff in salehoo they will not find it :)

2 Personal Examples From The Theory Above

In 2005 when MP3 players had just emerged and were catching on, I imported some 256MB ones from China to see how they sell, you know what, they sold like hot cakes, I was selling 10 a day, listing them for a 1p and making a clear profit of about £7-£8 on each depending on where the bidding stopped, I lost a bit of money on a couple but on average thats what I was making.

Do you think this would work today with mp3 players? absolutely not, Why? because the market is over saturated, there is way too much competition from local sellers and from sellers based abroad.

Conversely, once I was driving down to the hospital and stopped at the traffic lights, towards my left I saw a massive warehouse with handicrafts displayed outside. I parked up and went inside to have a look. I was quite amused at the stuff this guy had, he was importing these handicrafts from Asia. I immediately spotted an opportunity here to buy from this guy and sell on Ebay so after looking around for a bit I decided to buy a few tissue boxes that were hand made from leaves and coconut shell. They cost me £3.00 each. I listed them on Ebay and bidders were dying to get their hands on them and they went for about £15 each. Now you might be thinking why would someone pay that much for it? The answer lies in uniqueness, noone else was selling anything like it, even today noone is selling anything like it and if I list this stuff it will make a good profit because you cant get it from a list like salehoo.

Do you follow?

If you can understand this basic concept then you there is nothing to stop you from success on Ebay or anywhere for that matter.

Ebay Is Becoming Tougher Day By Day

I am sure you are aware that Ebay charges a fee to sell on their site. Now I dont want to bore you with numbers and figures of how much they charge but let me tell you that Ebay have started charging some hefty fees which has recently gone up and which very quickly builds up to a very handsome amount, so its more important than ever to know what you are doing and not to get involved with the wrong stock which you then have problem selling due to competition or due to lack of demand.

For example, if on the UK site you list something for £75.00 + £3.00 postage with a picture. This is how you will be charged

£1.00 to list and £0.15 for a picture

Now if it doesn't sell, you have lost £1.15, if it sells you will have to pay Ebay a further cut of £4.27.

Assuming you are going to accept payment by the most popular method 'Paypal' then that will dig into your profits even further by 3.4% + 20p. So you are going to receive a payment of £80 (£75 + £5.00 postage) on which you will have to pay paypal £2.92.

So in order for you to sell an item for £80 and get the money you will have to pay Ebay & Co a staggering £8.34 (10.4%) of your profits and you haven't even posted the item yet...do you get where I am going with this?

Absolutely, its not cheap to sell on Ebay anymore hence you need to have a market where there is minimal competition and its worth while.

My 2 Recommendations To Help You

In view of the facts that I have put before you above, I would like to recommend 2 products that will really help you succeed on Ebay.

Auction Yen

Find What Out What People Are Looking For

My first recommendation comes in the form of Auction Yen

Auction Yen is a basic software which pulls information from the 'Want It Now' section on Ebay where people post what things they need and are willing to buy but have failed to locate that item on the main site which has made them post in this section, sellers then reply to these posts if they have something the poster is looking for.

Where Auction Yen comes in is that it fetches all the posts on the Want It Now section and looks for a trend of how many people are looking for a specific item and how many sellers have responded to the buyer. Depending on how many people are looking for a specific product and how many sellers have responded to the request Auction Yen very cleverly determines a "Yen Factor" which ranges from 0 to 10. The nearer the Yen Factor is to 10 the better because that will determine that demand is high and supply is low equalling to profits if you can come in and plug the gap with the product required.

Auction Yen can really help you succeed on Ebay because buyers are telling you "Get this for us and we will buy it" Simple!

David Guindon is the developer of this awesome software and has made a video of the software at work, Click here to view the video and see how to find a profitable product to sell on Ebay

Auction Yen comes with a price tag of $47, but it will prove to be money well spent and also comes with the following 3 bonuses worth $84.00 but are yours to keep for free.

1 - Feedback Analyser - A tool to analyse feedback before you buy from any seller.

2 - Ebay Info Profits - People love information, this product will show you how to make good information products that will sell like hot cakes.

3 - Help Videos - Are you someone that learns more from watching videos than from reading page after page after page. If yes, then you will get videos with the bonus package that will show you how to make full use of Auction Yen

If you are willing to spend an extra $20 then David will also include:

Hot Niche Finder - A very good tool to find out whats hot and whats not. This tool will help you analyse what sellers are selling and for how much, what are the popular keywords being used by buyers and lots more.

Conclusion
Rather than spending money on a wholesale list or some E-book that promises millions it would be much more productive to invest in a tool like Auction Yen
