Most internet marketers start out online as an affiliate, promoting other people's products as a way to make easy money with very few headaches.But very few people remain affiliates for too long because they either create their own products or just don't make enough money in the first place. There's certainly a lot of hype and dazzle factor on the sales page of this product, but from what I can tell it's quite simply a guide to making a lot of money as an affiliate marketer from A-Z.

But instead of playing the guessing game on the sales page, or trying to ask other marketers what the deal is with this new affiliate marketing guide, I want to find out the truth for myself.

So, in the next few minutes you're going to come backstage with me behind the curtains of this much anticipated affiliate marketing guide to see what all the fuss is about and whether this product actually lives up to its' own hype.

What Secret Affiliate Code 2 really does?

After reading the sales page of Secret Affiliate Code 2, I was trying to understand what was different about this product in comparison the first version of Secret Affiliate Code.

One thing that initially put me off was the amount of hype and cheesy sales talk presented on the sales letter. Again, it seems like these products just can't help themselves from coming across as hypey, over the top sales pitches.

Luckily for me, I am able to see right past such hype but I feel that for a newcomer to internet marketing, this is yet another sales page that can be either off putting or down right confusing.

So it's my job to get inside Secret Affiliate Code 2 and find out exactly what it does and who it's right for. The only way for me to do that is to buy the product and conduct a careful review, based on my experience.

Getting past the cheesy sales pitch...I was eager to find out if this was just a rewrite of the original Secret Affiliate Code (which was a good product that taught people how to find a profitable niche, how to drive traffic and how to make a lot of sales from that traffic).

It turns out that the same subjects are covered in this sequel to some extent. I mean, we've still got the basic steps such as finding a niche, getting traffic and converting that traffic into sales at play here.

That's great if all this is new to you, but my concern is that this product might not offer anything significant enough for those of us that already know how to do these things.

My First Impression

After a quick scan, ultimately I can tell you that Secret Affiliate Code 2 is a comprehensive guide to affiliate marketing online, right from the very first steps to finding a profitable market through to getting tons of traffic and making lots of sales. So now it's time to really get inside and see what's going on here...

The first thing that struck me was the sheer amount of downloads and material inside Secret Affiliate Code 2. That doesn't mean it's good or bad material, just a lot of it!

So, I make my way to the download section and start systematically downloading all of the material. There's the main manual and several smaller written manuals along with a couple of audio interviews with Willie Crawford (who is a major authority in the online marketing world) and Alex Goad, another big marketer who produces a lot of best selling internet marketing guides.

So first of all, I'm going to be looking at the main manual of Secret Affiliate Code 2..

Does Secret Affiliate Code really work?

ANALYSIS 1 - THE MAIN MANUAL

The main core manual covers a lot of content, from SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to getting traffic from social networks through to finding the right market...and everything in between it seems.

There's actually quite a nice intro to the manual which gives some solid advice on getting and staying focused which I know from personal experience is very important. I also liked the basic bullet point outlines of what is required from a bird's eye view to run a successful affiliate marketing business online.

If you're new to the game, this intro will give you a good grounding before you start getting to deep into the details and wonder why you're doing what you're doing at all.

It starts with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and covers pretty much the basics to on page SEO (The things you need to do to your web pages before you publish them in order to increase your chances of being found in the search engines) through to off page SEO (The things you need to do on other websites to link back to your site to increase your rankings).

This is pretty basic stuff and suited for either new marketers or people who really are not technically savvy. There's certainly more to SEO than is covered here, but I do think that there is enough info to get your basics covered before you move onto the more "undercover" tactics. After all, this guide is not really about technical SEO stuff, but about using resources to pull lots of traffic.

Then we move on to market research, where we are taught about identifying your target market. This is something previous guides always leave out so I am glad this has been included in this guide. This is all about identifying who your ideal customer is, how old they are, their income etc.

This is crucial if you want to connect with people that you're trying to sell to and is essentially marketing 101. Funnily enough, most internet marketing guides don't teach this stuff so this was a refreshing change for me.

After you've identified your target market, you are then shown in fairly impressive detail how to start researching what people are drawn to in that market and how you can emulate that in order to start getting attention (and traffic of course). This starts with looking at existing blogs and communities to extract certain pieces of info which Secret Affiliate Code goes into more detail in.

At this point, I can already see that Secret Affiliate Code 2 is far more in depth even in the early stages of the entire guide. If the material continues in such a well planned out and detailed way, then this guide might end up with a great score.

But as you know, I am not biased and I'll continue to find drawbacks and downsides in this product at every stage. So, let's move on..

As part of the research stage, the guide goes into a huge amount of detail about using Twitter.com to carry out further research. In fact, there a several pages on this alone, which I thought was a little overboard at first.

Twitter is a site that is getting a lot of praise in the marketing world lately and SAC2 shows us how to use the power of Twitter to not only do research for your market but also to be able to reach your potential customers directly. This section does a great job of showing you how to start building a following almost immediately, which is great for those of us with limited time.

Then we move onto other places to find our target audience...

Side note: At this stage, I'm a little concerned about the order in which we are taught things. I've noticed that we are already being taught how to find our audience before we've really been shown how to find a profitable niche to enter in the first place.

I've seen a later chapter which covers finding a profitable niche so I'll hang on, but I do think that the order of chapters is kind of muddled up here.

Ok, so now we're looking at video sharing sites such as Youtube in order to find our traffic. Again the principles are pretty simple here in terms of how to leech traffic from Youtube but to a beginner or someone struggling to get traffic from such sites, then this is pretty solid and actionable advice. The best part about such techniques taught in this section are that they cost nothing to do, are very straight forward and can result in a huge amount of traffic very quickly.

Then from here we are taken through some of the top social networking sites from Facebook to Ning and other key players in the social media scene. This section outlines how to target the traffic and the real buzz going on at these sites and how you can quickly tap into such traffic.

This info is certainly nothing new but as a beginner or someone a little hesitant to get involved in Web 2.0 marketing, this is a great starting block.

Then there's a little more info on other sites and platforms you should consider, such as the bookmarking sites through to forum posting. Again, nothing new for many people but invaluable for real beginners.

They say the money is in the list, but according to Michael Rasmussen, of "Get More Buyers," the money is in the list of buyers. It is no use having a list of subscribers who don't support your recommendations. You want to have a list of loyal buyers. You also need to be loyal to your subscriber list by providing them with invaluable information during the course of your relationship with them.

There are a lot of product owners and email list owners who do nothing but promote to their list. This can be as annoying as those robo-calls that are currently becoming an annoyance to citizens who get up to fifteen of them each day according the news media. You have to treat your subscribers as family. You don't want to bombard them with promotions just to make an extra buck.

You should give more than you take. So offer your subscribers a lot of freebies. Go out and find those freebies if you have to and get them to your subscribers. They will thank you for it and will certainly tolerate your product recommendations more when they receive them.

How do you build your list? You do so by giving away something for free and not just anything, but something that is valuable and will be appreciated. You can use private label products, but why not bundle them together to create more value? If you have a membership site, you can give away a free month of membership.

Create a squeeze page and put images of your free bundled private label products with an email form so that your prospects can complete. Lead them to a landing page to download their free gift. For a period of seven days, be sure to follow up using your autoresponder so that the prospect does not forget you. The first message may read something like this: "Hi, thank you for downloading the free gift of xxxxx. I hope you are enjoying your gift. If it is OK with you, I will follow up with you in a couple of days to see if you have any questions or comments." Make sure you funnel all the messages to run on autopilot.

You should also consider running a biweekly newsletter. This is something that will keep your name in front of your subscriber. You will get more trust and loyalty from your subscriber because you will be able to build a better relationship with your newsletter than with just follow up mailings.

The key of how to get more buyers for your email opt-in list is the kind of gift you provide. You should make sure that you know your prospect and what they are looking for. Do a keyword search to see what your ideal prospect wants and give it to them. Providing a short report that includes tons of free resources is a good way to start. This can be a 10-15 page report. You can outsource this if you don't have time to write it yourself, but if you can, then that would even be better.

Let us recap now. The money is in the list of buyers depending on the way you treat them. You should never be over bearing, but tread lightly.
