The Secret Law Of Attraction

I first saw the movie, The Secret, in 2006 after it was mentioned in passing by a friend. (interestingly, my friend never watched The Secret, and knows nothing of the secret law of attraction even today). Basically, The Secret is about the universal laws of attraction and states that:

This is simply a restatement of the power of positive thinking. If you think positively and have positive emotions, you will achieve what you desire. However, there is a flip side to this idea as well that is even more profound. The secret law of attraction also works to create negative circumstances in response to your negative self talk, negative attitude and emotions. Either way, YOU are responsible for your reality.

All matter in the Universe is made up of energy. Thoughts are also energy and are can be transmitted just like sound waves. Just as sound waves can shatter a glass as it vibrates in sympathy with the sound waves, your thought energy can affect matter within the Universe as it vibrates in sympathy with your thoughts.

In other words, the Secret Law of Attraction can be succinctly stated as:

Even though I capitalized the term "universe", I am not implying that the "universe" is God or that the secret law of attraction is a religion. The movie, The Secret, identifies the "Universe" in an effort to avoid needlessly entangling this universal law with religion.

Many people, after viewing ,The Secret, naturally wonder whether or not the secret law of attraction violates their religion. I do not believe that it does.

No one religion can claim ownership of the secret law of attraction. In fact, all of the world's major religions have come to recognize the existence of the secret law of attraction in some form or another.

At its heart, the secret law of attraction requires the practitioner to have some sort of "faith" in order to consciously create reality. In fact, Jesus Christ Bible plainly identifies the three step process underlying the secret law of attraction:

Ask
As Christians, we are supposed to ask God for the desires of our hearts through prayer. Christians do this through prayer.

Believe
As Christians, we are supposed to have faith that whatever we ask for will be granted to us. The Bible says that if evil man knows how to give his children good gift, how much more can the Father give man. The fact is that we are to believe that God is going to be faithful.

Receive
As Christians, we are to receive the blessing of God even before it manifests itself in physical form. This is simply incorporating a belief that "it is on its way" and acting accordingly.

On the importance of faith, the Law of Attraction and the New Testament agree. Christianity recognizes the power of faith to bring about positive change, not merely as an internal motivator, but also as an external creative energy.

Indeed, for Christians, Mark 11:24 should be one of the most powerful verses in the Bible. It says you can have anything you want if you have faith. I think the problem with most Christians is that they are afraid to take the teachings of Jesus literally for fear of being disappointed. It is this fear that dilutes the effectiveness of the secret law of attraction.

So how are we to apply the secret law of attraction to achieve the reality that we desire?

To effectively use the secret law of attraction, you have to be clear as to what you really and want and AND WHY you want it. You have to be clear about what you want, otherwise you will send out confusing thoughts. You have to be clear why you want it to generate the passion, or positive emotion, to your conscious creation efforts.

If you have been practicing the secret law of attraction but have not been successful manifesting your conscious creations, you need to realize that some intentions take longer to manifest for the following reasons:

The secret law of attraction is a universal law, like gravity. It is not within the domain of Christianity or any other religion. Therefore, it is available to all who choose to use it. In fact, the secret law of attraction is at work, for good or bad, whether you choose to use it or not.

So, decide right now what you want and why you want it.

Maintain a positive focus get excited and passionate about your desires.

But, be careful to guard your thoughts from the influence of others (or yourself) otherwise you will unconsciously create that which you do not want.

You will undermine your efforts to manifest and conscious create the life you have always dreamed of.
