The Employment Scene

It is not new news that the employment situation is dire. People are out of work. Some have no hope for employment. While others are having to take lower paying jobs .

My question is:"Why is everyone so passive about it"? Why does everyone accept this recession as if there is nothing we can do about it other than wait for the "government" to do something?

Which always means throw money at the problem and hope it goes away.

What have we Americans become?

I think our forefathers are rolling over in their graves at what we have become. A culture of uneducated, ineffective couch potatoes more curious about celebrity "goofs" than about the future of our country.

I am not speaking from a "love it or leave it" point of view either. That is an attitude that promotes nothing.

Come on America wake up!

The world is passing us by as we wallow in our "Recession Blues". Get educated get a second job, collect cans, I don't care what you do but get productive. Produce something...learn new skills.

Borrowing money is not a solution but simply a masking of the problem. Our Employment scene will not change until we,each one of us, takes charge of our own lives and the lives of our neighbors and we get productive and not fearful.

Employers sliced chunks off of their payrolls in January and the cuts will get worse.

The Labor Department reported that mass layoffs increased to 2,227 in January, up almost 50 percent from the same month last year.

Over 230,000 emloyees were fired in January's cuts.

So I mam sure you can read the writing on the wall. The stimulus package cannot possibly heal or cure this type of job loss. At best it will put a band aid on the wound. But that wound will keep on bleeding.

Look, even in the face of these staggering losses there are still jobs available for those that are willing to fight for a job.I mean fight because the competition is tough and plentiful.
