Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are two conditions that are becoming more and more well known. The pain and fatigue from these conditions can be so debilitating that one can feel that his/her life is over.
Fibromyalgia (FM)is a syndrome characterized by chronic generalized aching of the muscles, mutiple areas of tenderness over the body, unrefeshing sleep and psychological distress. The diagnosis for FM includes having a history of widespread musculoskeletal pain for at least 3 months and pain in 11 or more of 18 tender points in specific regions of the body. 80% percent of people diagnosed with FM are female.
The main symptoms of FM is generalized chronic muscle and soft tissue pain. This can vary in intensity and be as severe as rheumatoid arthrtis and cancer. Accompanying symptoms include fatigue, inability to obtain refreshing sleep, memory loss, words lapses and decreased or inability to concentrate. Migraine headaches, irritable bowel/bladder and TMJ are also common in accompanying FM.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a serious neurological condition that affects the brain and central nervous system. Another name for CFS is Myalgic Encephalomyeletis.
CFS affects all ages, ethnic groups and socioeconomic levels. It has been found to be more common in females. It's hallmark symptom is an exhaustion so debilitating, everyday tasks such as showering or getting dressed are too demanding. It can be described as feeling weakened every day by a severe flu.
FM and CFS often exist together. Depression, increased sick days at work and withdrawl from everyday activites are common. Medication is often prescribed such as anti-depressants, opiods (oxycontin, percacet etc)and many others. Often with no assistance.
BUT THERE IS AN ANSWER..........I have completed extensive research on these subjects and have found many helpful resources that will help you!!
1. Eat a wide variety foods that are in their most "whole" state. Foods that are at their most "alive" state such as fresh vegetables (organic is possible) without pesticides and/or added chemicals.
2. Supplement daily with a regimen of high quality vitamins and minerals that are at their most natural state. Products that do not contain any fillers or additives.
3. Eat small meals frequently throughout the day. Maintain a blanced food composition of comples carbohydrates, healthy plant fats, essential fatty acids, lean animal protein and vegetable protein.
4. Avoid caffeine, sugar and as many unnecessary drugs as possible. And monitor your food intolerances and any allergic reactions. For example; gas, bloating, constipation or diarrhea, headache or migraines, joint pain, mood disorders, muscles aches and skin problems.
Sometimes, when we are feeling so sick and tired, making all these changes can be overwhelming. Always remember, THAT'S OK!! Take it step by step.
There IS a future for you....HONEST!! You will see that end result of health and happiness!!
This information is researched and based on my own personal experience. I never thought I would see the day where I would feel good and walk upstairs with ease.
