Finding the Best Theatrical Contact Lenses

There is a virtual wealth of different theatrical contact lenses available out there. Not too long ago, there were only a few specialized styles. These days, however, it seems like every time a new hit blockbuster movie full of special effects comes out, a new pair of cosmetic lenses hits the market. You only have to look at some of the choices available right now to see that this is true. In fact, some of the most popular cosmetic contacts currently on the market are popular because of a particular movie. People might not be wearing them to look like characters in those movies, but they have nonetheless started a trend that people are carrying into the fashion of their day to day lives.

Most of the lenses popular today are wildeyes contact lenses. These consist of quite a few different styles, such as vampire contact lenses and cat eye contact lenses. Now, lenses like these only cover the center of your eye. What that basically means is that only the irises are altered by these types of contacts. However, there are things called sclera contact lenses as well. The sclera is the white of your eye. Naturally, standard sized contact lenses, whether they are cosmetic, novelty, or prescription, only cover the iris. That is how colored contacts can turn blue eyes green or brown eyes violet. One type of lenses which cover the sclera are Riddick contact lenses. They get their name, of course, because of the contacts Vin Diesel wore when he played Riddick in the movies Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick. The latter film was extremely popular, and the trend really took off when it came out.

So, let's take a look at some of the individual lenses we just named. We will start off with the wildeyes contact lenses, beginning with vampire contact lenses. The movie Twilight, which was destined to be a hit even before the movie came out, thanks to the series of novels it comes from, has made a lot of people go vampire crazy. A while ago, vampire contacts were mostly red. This movie, however, featured vampires with curiously golden eyes, so now that color is a growing trend. Then, too, we have cat eye contact lenses, just as the name implies. These lenses really do make you look like a cat. Your pupils will look elongated and the iris will have the felinesque color of your choice, be it blue, green, or yellow.

That brings us to sclera contact lenses - most specifically, the popular Riddick contact lenses, as they are the most well known type of contacts which cover the sclera. These contacts are very special and very intriguing. If you have seen the movie, then you know the whole idea is for them to carry a mirror reflection, which can be very eerie - especially to the people who are looking at you!

As you can see, there are lots of different theatrical contact lenses from which you can choose - these are just a few? Whether you have aspirations to be a movie star, frequently stage or appear in plays, star in your own movies, or want to put a really great stage so - even if you want a different look every once in a while - these contact lenses can help you completely change your outward persona.
