Lamarena says:
Yes, I believe God exists. Nature is not a mere chance collection of events, a mere jumble of accidents, but an orderly affair. The planets move regularly in their orbits, seeds grow into trees regularly, the seasons succeed each other in order. Now Nature cannot order itself. It requires the existence of an intelligent being, i.e., God, who is responsible for it. Even Einstein, the great scientist, was strongly convinced of the creation of the universe by a Supreme Intelligence.

I have answered no - because the question does not make clear which God we are talking about. If it means the God of Abraham - then No - that is a wrathful god of war and vengeance in whose name millions have died violent and terible deaths.
If the question is asking is there a spiritual being that transcends all human existance - possibly. But maybe the supreme being is Mother Earth herself. We all come from her - we will all return to her - and it is she who brings forth life. Perhaps all the planets are intelligent beings - and humans are just a distructive virus.

Rikki makes an excellent point.
She's very right, someone must've KNOWN that it was going to happen. How do you explain the bombs on the side of the building already planted? how do you explain the fact that Bush was having breakfast with one of the claimed 'suicide bombers?'
How do you explain the jet fuel assumption, they said that the jet fuel had melted all of the evidence, the planes, etc. Yet, the bodies were very much so intact.
Bodies being placed? hmmm...

Far too many unexplained problems. Building 7 - watch the video of it falling - no building has ever fallen like that because of a fire. It was demolished - therefore the charges must have been set before 9/11 - therefore someone must have known it was going to happen. Building 7 was a primarily a government building - CIA, Securities Board and Mayor.

No disrespect to others opinions. If we all agreed to everything it would be a boring planet. Yes, 911 was an inside job. Terrorist moved into our country and terrorized us within our borders. I dont think for one second 911 was an inside job if you are pointing the finger at our government.. For what purpose ? However I do believe that the plane over Pennsylvania could have possibly been shot down and covered up by our government. Unfortunately if that did happen it was only because the military felt it had to.

I like having a president that doesnt act like he is a puppet on a string. Obama stands his ground. As a leader and the highest ranked official in the country you should. That is why some of us elected him. In my own humble opinion I feel better about Obama after only being in office for just one year compared to the last administrations full term.

I hope you vote for Obama. I say that as someone whose country has been so badly impacted by the awful foreign policy of Repubican presidents for so many years. Unfortunately the cost of your presidential elections means that whoever is eected, Corporate America is in charge and that means decisions will be made to support commercial interests not the interests of people, so I suspect that we will all continue to have our our lives blighted by a corrupt US intervention in global matters.

I think yes because he has managed to utterly destroy the standing of the USA everywhere in the world. Even in Britain America is no longer respected and that means more people are unprepared to tolerate US intervention and intimidation. Not sure how we are all going to like China as the replacement Superpower - but the world is a very different place as a result of Bush and that many not be a bad thing.

California_Dreamin says:
Marijuana should be legalized because if it were, it would no longer be a steppingstone to harder drugs. Most people try marijauna first because it's not dangerous and generally socially acceptable, but the problem is the person they usually get it from: a drug dealer. Oncce they get accustomed to buying illegal drugs from a dealer, there is a good chance they will try something more dangerous and addictive.
Posted May 22, 2009
Annonymous says:
Yes!
It's the safest drug out there. If cigarettes and alcohol, and guns can be legal why not marijuana?
No one has ever died from it, it's a peaceful drug, very very minimal side-effects.
Why the hell not?
Posted November 04, 2008
PoisonTheMonkey says:
Marijuana has never killed anyone: the health risks are highly exaggerated and based on one test in the 70's on a small number of mice. Alchohol and smoking, even coffee, kill large amounts of people and have serious health risks. Marijuana's minimal health risks--which are similar to smoking but not as bad--can be completely avoided with vaporizers. Also, because marijuana is illegal, hemp is hard to grow in the US and it's the single most useful plant in the world. Our constitution was written on hemp paper!
Posted September 29, 2008
Rikki says:
Absolutely
Marijuana was made illegal by Harry Anslinger, a member of the Dupont family who had just invented Nylon. Hemp is a miricle product that could solve many of our environmental problems but because the psychoactive strain is illegal - no one is able to grow Hemp. Make it legal and the benefits to the world will be huge.
As a drug is is a social drug that is far less harmful than alcohol or tobacco - all drugs have some side effects - but the most harmful for Marijuana are having to associate with criminals to buy it (and therefore be exposed to more harmful drugs) and the risk of of being arrested and being branded a criminal for using it

Annonymous says:
I'm 100% going with Science.
Egyptian history, astrology, and a bit of mythology makes it very clear that there isn't and never was a man in the sky.
The way that the Bible talks about Jesus/God being with us ALWAYS, hence the Sun.
The resurrection of Jesus/God coming back is a metaphor for the Sun coming back after Winter.
Posted November 04, 2008
reasonablerobinson says:
To do what? Science for furtherng onotological knowledge, although this presumes a leaning to natural rather than social science. Taking 'science' to mean 'knowledge' then science wins. Religion is a man made institustionalised methaphysical philosophy and therefore prone to man's idiocincracies and weaknesses. Science vs Spirituality could be better but is really is a false dichotomy as they serve different purposes

My position is simple. The Nation-state has no right , except the "right" it has fashioned by the threats of imprisonment and death" to say what an Individual can or cannot do with the property of their Body! So asking the question "should prostitution be legalized is really meaningless , because that question lies on the assumption that the Nation-state has a right to regulate prostitution or to define the scope of the individuals in the transaction.
Okay now that we've talked principal...
Hell yes prostitution should be legalized! I'd absolutely loved it if the Federal Government removed any criminal penalty for prostitution. I'd probably , grudgingly, and not for a long period of time except regulation. Why? Because I sure could use the money . I'd have no qualms in offering my body , a passion for the art of lovemaking, and my time for cash. I just don't want to have the weight of the state swooping down on me and putting me in prison!

Barack Obama vs. John McCain - Side by Side Senate Voting Record for Easy Comparison
Amazon Price: $15.59 (as of 12/18/2009)![]()
List Price: $19.99
Used Price: $0.01
It is often difficult to ignore the hype and find out what the candidates really believe in. During this election, however, voters have the unique advantage of access to the actual voting records of both candidates. This book lists every legislation considered by the U.S. Senate between January 6, 2005 and May 22, 2008 and shows you how Senator Obama and Senator McCain voted on each of these issues. Here are hundreds of votes each of them cast (or didn't cast-the book also shows every legislation the candidate didn't vote on). Each candidate's votes are listed side by side for easy comparison. The book also includes a one-page summary of votes that shows, among other statistics, how many times each has voted with the other and how many times each has voted against the other. Finally, for those readers who want to obtain more extensive details on the legislation mentioned in this book, the book gives clear instructions on how to access such information using the internet (there is no cost for accessing this information).
