Free hugs this Valentine's day
Half asleep in my cradle,
I could hear Mama sing..
From the kitchen sneaks the smell,
It is a frying bacon, I exclaim..
But then my heart sinks and in my mind I know,
In this heart filled with love, there is no blood that flows.

And what are you going to do about 2500 children that are dying every day of it ?
According to the statistics that I picked up from here Congenital Heart Defects (CHD's) are defects people are born with.
They affect some 32,000 children every year in the U.S. alone.
There is no known cause, nor cure for CHD's, the #1 birth defect.They are the leading cause of birth-defect related death.
Twice as many children die from CHD's every year than from all forms of childhood cancer combined.
For unknown reasons, 1 out of every 100 babies is born with a 'broken heart'.
Though sometimes there is a surgical treatment for a particular defect,
many surgeries are not permanent.
Many treatments are not even 'good', they are just 'not bad'.
The point is DO YOU CARE ? Care enough ?
How and why I joined the 'Squidoo for Congenital Heart Defects' Challenge
Everyone,you know has a story, What's Your's ?
When I first wrote this poem, little did I know about the Congenital Heart Defects in children .It was rather serendipitous that I came across Dr Mani, who also happens to be one amongst Seth Godin's 99 Purple cows
Dr.Mani Sivasubramanian is a heart surgeon using his Internet marketing business to fund heart surgery for under-privileged children in India. What a cause, I had exclaimed at first what a way to Do what you are most passionate about
I love children, and when I say that, I mean I am like your otherwise crazy neighborhood aunt who hugs every possible child, even the ones she finds on the mall, street, the younger, the better, pun intended !. So much so that sometimes people are skeptical of my intentions !
I am spreading my love for children (via this lens)through a message that I breathe in "Love Yourself"
Give yourself an exhilarating hug everyday that you are the most lovable person here.
Because you cannot love someone, unless you love yourself first.

Free hugs and why we need more of them?
ahh..At least something is free ! No strings attached
We are living ahead of the most creative times, the most blessed .But we are not happy. Why?Because in this fast paced space, we miss out on something fundamental, which is child like love. Ever wonder why they call it child like love? Because it is so selfless, and virtuous.
I am writing this because making difference to people excites me . I am writing this lens to tell you to love yourself. Bring on that smile on your face, because a smile is infecting, smiles, like good ideas spread.
Love is addictive, love spreads, and this valentine's day I am asking you to love the most beautiful person in the milky way ,YOU .
For a change,this valentine's day, let's love to love ourselves !

All that I wish for you
I wish that we all could fill each of our days with compassion, love and a sense of belonging, and community well being.I wish that we all knew that when we give love to people around us, there is no way; it will not travel around the world, but come back to you.
All you need is a belief, and the passion to keep the child alive.
So throw your sunglasses, and throw them off right away .

And as it happens, there were quite a few who were wanting to move beyond awareness to action. What could they do to promote this cause?

The final Plan :
This is what I have planned for this 14th Feb:
Get along a bunch of ppl, organise activities, we take care of the logistics.(the games, theme,and fun activities, I already have 3 volunteers who are willing to help us on this)
We don't charge them anything, we just ask them to donate a cheque a sum of rs 200 (or even more if they so please!) to the children's heart foundation.
This is a protype of the dinner with a stranger
