Family picks of the best Wii games
This lens is dedicated to what I consider to be the Best WII Games. I was really reluctant to getting another gaming console after the multitude that my family has already acquired through the years. But when the Wii first came out, it was on all of my childrens list of "must-haves" for both birthdays and Christmas. Needless to say I was a little more than coerced into the decision. However, now, there's no looking back. This has been hands down the best gaming console
Not only has it been a blessing as a means of bringing us all together at the same time to enjoy each others company by being able to play together, but all my children can play it with minimal effort. The ease of use has been phenomenal. My 6 year old can easily outplay in some adventures because it fits her. My 3 year old can bowl with the best of them. My 12 year old simply loves the game play and graphics. And because of it all, I'm a sucker. We've amassed quite a few titles in our library and it continues to grow. Wii Sports Resort
We've recently picked up Wii Sports Resort, it came with 1 Wii motion plus, but since there's four of us we had to get an extra one so that we could atleast play against each other. Would've been better for us if it would've come with 2 motion plus pieces but at least it did come with one. This game has been fun for all of us so far. It includes 12 games in all, 10 are completely new while 2 others (golf and bowling) are upgrades from the old wii sports games. As far as the updates to the old games go, golf is golf, didn't feel much different to me, however, bowling wise, you can really spin the heck out of the ball now. The girls love it, even my 7 year old is throwing a mean hook down the lane. Off to the new. There were two standouts to me. Archery and Swordplay. Archery takes some practice, for me at least, and the boy loves the swordplay. Makes me feel like I'm almost carrying a real one, now if I can just keep him quiet during the game play instead of making all the sound effects while he's beating me it'd be even better. The wife likes to go on the power cruising. She races around all over the place. I guess we all have a favorite with this one.

Wii Sports Resort
Come one, come all, to the carnival! This one has a ton of games on it, over 20, surely something for everyone. Here's the family highlights. Alley Ball (basically skee-ball for those in the know) is one of my oldest daughters favorites. I can't stand this one simply because I can't beat her. She's getting too good. I just don't have the flinging action down, but it's surely not from lack of practice as this one is f-u-n fun. Balloon Darts is awesome. I rock at this one. The grand champion of the house I might add. Probably because it's just like throwing darts and I've got them whipped at that. Gotta pop the ballons on the board. My boy of course likes the shooting gallery. Reminds me of the old duck shooting game that you could play at carnivals when I was growing up. He's a pretty good shot too at all those little duckies that come rolling by. We just use the wii-mote right now as we don't have the accessory pack that has a gun in it but you hold the mote like a gun and aim. Maybe we'll get the accessory pack next and stick him on that. I bet I can beat him then. The wife likes the ring toss. I guess her and I are kind of old fashioned with our game choices but still it's pretty cool. It's just like the regular ring toss, where you've got to put a ring on a bottle. Takes a little bit of skill for that one at times as you've got to kind of fling the wii-mote like you would a frisbee, can't believe she can beat me at that one since I blow them away in the balloon darts. And as far as the little one goes, the 5-year old likes spilled milk. Remember that old frustrating game of tossing the balls at the stacked milk bottles trying to knock them all down. I hated that one, but that's where she shines. I think it might have something to do with her height and where the sensor pickup is but she's pretty dang good at it. Not to mention that it's got a little "cheater" on it that'll show you where your throw will hit if you go through the motions before you actually throw it. There's a ton of others on here as well that'll remind you of all those carny games you used to play growing up.

It really gets you going on all the basics. Showing you all the controls and showing you the basic structure of the game. You'll find yourself flipping back to the Table of Contents quite often as it's all laid out superbly there for each episode.

What you don't know
You've probably never heard of this game as I hadn't. We just so happened to be strolling thru the store and my younger ones started going nuts over it probably because of the cartoon network effect that gleams from it. I thought, what the heck, why not. Got it home, unwrapped it and popped it in. Was I in for a surprise. Each stage is a puzzle. You've got to try different things to get thru it all. It's definitely been a game that my whole family enjoys. It's been addictive and fun and absolutely worth every penny.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
This ones just simply fun
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption completely blows away the first to issues in the whole "Prime" series. Get ready cause Samus is back for another fantastic first-person adventure. You will be drawn in from the start in ways that you would have never thought possible on any other games. It certainly did me and that's why its made my best wii games list.
You'll find that the story picks up right where it left off in Metroid 2. This time, you actually get to interact with other characters but primarily through cut scenes. But you can forget about taking the typical Metroid elevators in this one, instead you'll blast off to completely separate worlds leaving your exploring to whole new areas.

The controls are quite top notch in my opinion. Plus I think that they take full advantage of the Wii mote perfectly. Because the controls are so intuitive it really makes this game easy to get into and fun. Because of the overall difficulty of some of the puzzles and shoot-outs with the Boss's, although they are much milder than most shooting games, it tends to be difficult at times but if you are an experienced player you shouldn't have many problems picking it up.
The gameplay itself is set within several 3D worlds. You will continue to follow the traditional Metroid formula of finding the various weapon upgrades and armor to use while exploring areas, fighting the various bosses plus avoiding all the environmental dangers.
To me, Metroid is hands-down the front runner in graphics for the Wii and is definitely a must have title for Wii owners. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is rated T-Teen.
