HERE'S WHAT I THINK

The Bottle vs. The Boob

At the risk of having La Leche League International beating down my door I'm going to take a stand and say, I'M A BOTTLE FEEDER!. Yes I know there have been oodles of studies saying that breast milk is superior but I just can't jump on that bandwagon.

I like being able to measure how many ounces I am feeding and with DHA & RHA improved formulas I am confidant that babies are getting everything they need from formula. The bottom line is that formula feeding worked for me!

Yes, you're right! The Bottle Rules!

AMK says:

I find it strange that some think natural breast feeding is completely safe? Does that not depend on what the mother is feeding herself? I vote for the bottle as long as I know what is in the product 100%

Hanna says:

way to go. what ever is best for you! also, how will the father bond with a baby if he doesnt get to help? bottle or boob, do what you wish!

No way, Monkeybrain! The Boob is Best!

Naydi says:

Breastfeeding is always ideal, I hope to be able to breastfeed my child :) until he or she is at least 2 y/o. Fathers can have plenty of time to bond with the baby- diaper changes, tummy time, burping, walks- tons of opportunities. Plus most mothers express breastmilk for those times when they can't be home, at those times the father would be able to feed the baby.

Which would YOU think would be healthier: feeding a calf cow's milk OR taking goats milk, stripping it down to a powder, then reconstituting it while mixing in chemicals and other products in order to have it resemble cow's milk, and then feeding it to the calf? I would go with cow's milk for a calf, and human milk for a baby :) .

I think everyone should give breastfeeding a chance. I did, and it was easier than all the horror stories, that's for sure! I lasted four months until my milk dried up on it's own, then I went to bottle. I think it's a personal choice, however I urge all mothers to do it, great bonding experience and it's free!

Reg_Brittain says:

Boob, baby! Boob!

JR says:

Boob is the best for the baby

Breast feeding is the best.

slotowngal says:

I raised seven breastfed kids... it's definitely best if you can manage it.

ComingSoon says:

No Way!!!!
Forget the bottle!

kerryg says:

We got off to a rough start with breast-feeding (vasospasm and other fun stuff, very TMI), so I can sympathize with people who choose to bottlefeed, but I'm glad I stuck it out. It's easier, cheaper, and more convenient, and I love the bonding time.

freelief says:

Natural is pretty much always better.

victoria_neely says:

It's cheap (free), full of natural antibodies, and cuts down the risk of things like colic, vomiting, and illnesses. I'd only use the bottle if I were incapable of giving the milk my baby needed.

Christene says:

I nursed my daughter for 2 years. No bottles for her.

Susan52 says:

Breastfeeding worked perfectly for me for my two. Cheaper, more convenient, healthy, mom-baby bonding - four reasons I recommend it to anyone.

I'm not a mother, so I won't pick either way. But, what I do have a problem with is breastfeeding mothers with no modesty. I am not against breastfeeding in public, but goog grief people, throw a blanket over your shoulder. Why do breastfeeding mothers have to climb up on such a high horse and try to make others feel small minded? What happened to my right not to see a boob sticking out from under a shirt when I go out? Go ahead and breastfeed; you don't have to hide in the bathroom to do it, but please, cover it up!
