The Burning Crusade

If you've ever wondered what's on the other side of the Dark Portal, or if you've played the games, if you've ever wondered what happened to Draenor, well, here it is. Outland is the broken apart version of Draenor in one form of disarray or another, inhabited by all the factions who had been there previously. You will find survivors from Warcraft II in here as well as new factions.

Outland is diverse, fragmented, occasionally corrupted by the Burning Legion or Illidan, and well, fun to play in and a bit challenging at times. It's definitely worth checking out as it adds a lot to the existing game while tying it into the history of Warcraft II and III.

The Draenei are technically aliens. They are inter-planetary refugees who stole a ship from the Burning Legion and crash landed it into Azeroth, causing all kinds of environmental mayhem which they are now engaged in fixing. Led by the prophet Velen, the Draenei are a devout race dedicated to the light.

The Draenei racial ability, the Gift of Naaru, or a quick healing spell is characteristic of their devotion to the light. In addition though, they have not forgotten where they come from and can play the Shaman class as well as Paladin.

The Blood Elves, ahh yes, the breakaway faction of the Alliance under Kael'Thas Sunstrider, these are some of the last survivors of the attack on Quel'Thalas. These days, the Blood Eleves as they have become known as, are rebuilding their former glory. However, they have a new set of allies and owe no allegiance to the Alliance.

The Blood Elves have unique racial abilities that allow them to feed on the magic around them and unleash that magic to silence their enemies. In addition, the Blood Elves have their own flavor of Paladin.

Jewelcrafting is the newest profession in the World of Warcraft and centers around a character making rings, trinkets, various other items, and gems for other players to use. The effects vary, but it's a good way to get high level stuff without going into high level instances. Plus the gems are useful for socketed items (also introduced in The Burning Crusade).
