CD4 The Band at the Walkabout, Sheffield, 29th october 2006
Great concert, good music and lots of friends, plus info about HIV
This lens was created by The CD4 Community Project: We welcome anyone genuinely interested to help raising awareness about HIV and its prevention.
The project was born after a successful concert at Sheffield Cathedral, where CD4 The Band, presented a new album inspired on people affected by HIV. Since then we have organised two concerts, one at Castle College and one at the Walkabout to present the last album Red Ribbons in my Heart. During these events information about HIV was available, in the form of talks, leaflets and projections...
We continue... the songs talk about livng with HIV and about preventing risks, many young musicians participated in the concerts and in the recording of two albums, as part of our prevention campaign
Hope you like it, visit the links below to hear some of the songs
Thank You!

- The main aim of our organisation is to communicate to as many people as possible how HIV can affect lives and what to do to prevent it, or how to know whether you are at risk.
We intend to support art and music events by people affected by HIV, or by those whom although not directly affected, are interested in helping and may choose to participate organising events, performing and helping to increase awareness for a better understanding of the issues surrounding HIV. - My Space for Carlos Lopez G & CD4 The Band
- CD4 the band, is a group of musicians from different backgrounds with a common aim, to make original music with the purpose of raising awareness about HIV prevention.
Carlos was part of the 80s music revolution in Spain. He was leader of Los Indeseables and The Assasins, participated with Glamour and other groups and artists of that time. Due to personal issues, he left the music world until 3 years ago when he came to live in Sheffield, here he was part of a Christian band, Outcry. Dedicated to charitable events such as a concert for the victims of the Tsunami, at Abbeydale Picture House, Sheffield; one particular event touched him, this was a concert performed at Doncaster prison, where he understood he could use the music to reach the heart of people in need of a message.

- Interesting way to give information... I think many people are tired of listening to lectures about what to do, how to behave, etcetera... I think many people will listen to music and let their brains be soaked and to think and have fun at the same time... All the best for your enterprise CD4 !!!
