The Clark Sisters: Jacky, Twinkie, Dorinda and Karen

These beautiful sisters are legendary in the gospel music community for their groundbreaking contemporary sound. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and reared in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), The Clark Sisters were born to sing gospel songs that the entire world would enjoy.

Their mother, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, was a legendary choir director, writer, and musician who recorded more than 35 gospel albums during her career. She is widely credited with being the first person to teach three-part harmony to gospel choirs. Dr. Clark encouraged her girls to glorify God from an early age with their extraordinary vocal talents.

Regarded as the biggest-selling female gospel music group in history, their 1980 album, Is My Living In Vain, remained on the top of the Billboard charts for more than a year. Their 1981 hit gospel song, You Brought the Sunshine, crossed over to the R&B black singles chart in 1983, peaking at No. 16. The world has watched the growth of these loving sisters from their first album recorded in 1973 when they were teenagers, until the release of their highly anticipated gospel music album, "Live: One Last Time", released April 2007.

Dorinda Clark Cole

"We've always believed a crucial part of what we do is to speak to people who might never even go to a church, or listen to gospel music."-Dorinda Clark Cole

Dorinda Clark Cole, also known as "The Rose of Gospel", has won two Stellar Awards and a Soul Train Lady of Soul Award for her self-titled debut gospel music CD released in 2002. She is the sister that adds the jazzy feel, the scats, and the riffs to the unique "Clark Sound". She has vocal abilities similiar to her mother, the legendary Mattie Moss Clark.

A little more than ten years ago, she considered committing suicide. This episode in her life is the cornerstone of her testimony, and inspired her biggest hit gospel song, "I'm Still Here". Her willingness to share her life experiences has allowed her to minister to people of all walks of life.
