POLL: How many Clintons shows have you seen?
How do you describe The Clintons to your friends?
We're dying to know.
This has got to be the most elusive piece of information to us. We're actually IN the band so we just don't know how to describe ourselves. Do you throw out the names of other bands who you think we sound like? If so, what bands? Help us out and tell us how you do it.

I was sitting around with my uncle kev, and he popped the clintons cd in and was like you've got to listen to these guys they are fantastic.I heard the first few notes of the song and thought, oh great country. However when it comes to these guys i do not mind so much. The music is so full of spirit and enthusiasm. which i find the more main stream guys have lost that. Sleep like you is one of my most favorite songs ever.

Those boys know how to keep a show hopping, whether by making fools of themselves, their families, or their fans.
It's always an outrageous time, no matter how many times you see them.
Always original. Always entertaining. Always the Clintons.
I dig it.. don't you?

Other than that, they're kind of totally awesomeriffic, I randomly searched for words in a song and their song came up, I downloaded it (yee itunes) and got addicted to the Clintons. Screw Cowbell, More Clintons!!!

Mix some rock n roll with country, add some blues and a dash of everything else. Bake for a few yrs and you got the Clintons. If their music doesn't grab u at first, go see a live show. Their personalities and energy will draw you in and never let you go..not that you would want it to!

Having more or less grown up with the Clintons' sound, they have grown in ways none of the diehards could've predicted. From Dave Mathew's influences in the early songs, to John Mayer/BNL, to Blackhawk and Rascal Flatts, you never quite know what to expect. I can guarantee, their style is influenced by all of the above, but still is truly their own. They've had five year olds to 70 clapping their hands and stomping their feet at the shows I've seen. The joy in their music is absolutely infectious. You want jazz influences? Just listen to the chords. You want lyrics to tickle your funny bone? Just listen. Do you want country with rock flavor? Just listen. You want funk and groove? Just listen. You want commentary on society? Just listen. You want pin your ears back and let it fly rock? Yep, just listen. They are one of the best "undiscovered" bands in the west. You gotta here, 'em!!

Not Fighters
The John Mayer-esque "Time of Day" is a summertime love song that puts listeners on the front porch with their significant other during a breezy summer day, wind chimes and all. On the other side of the emotional spectrum, "Sleep Like You" is a touching, beautifully tragic breakup ballad that has the potential to get you all choked up while remembering details of your last relationship. And seemingly out of nowhere, the synthesized and funky production of the band's good-times ode to childhood escapism as an adult, "Grant Wants to be a Pirate," will inspire you to leave the real world for a fantastic life on the Seven Seas.
Keeping their core audience in mind, the band included a brand new version of their seven-year-old, previously unreleased fan favorite, "Leave Me Alone". The song, which has been a staple at live shows for years, has a hugely explosive anthem-like chorus that ends with "I'll be back home/writing another song/about how you let me down/when you were high". As you can see, the band isn't afraid of edgy lyrics by any means.
The record is riddled with tasty chops from some very accomplished and talented musicians including their friends Tony Furtado on banjo and slide guitar, Rick Winking from Montana Rose on lead guitar, Scott Morales on clav and organ, and a vocal cameo from the sultry Paige Rasmussen.
Strange Day in Mexico [Explicit]
The Clintons' third full length release, Strange Day in Mexico, is certainly the best selling effort up until this point. On SDIM you'll find the obvious favorites "Come With Me" and " Sex On The Radio" which were played heavily on Bozeman's Clear Channel station, KISS FM, purely from listener requests. Besides John's knack for writing feel good ballads, you'll find the anthem for students everywhere, "College Daze", where McLellan revisits the blurry days and drunken nights of being in college. Strange Day In Mexico, produced by drummer Levi Kujala, ends with quite possibly the hookiest blue grass tune ever written. Although "Abercrombie Jeans" is quite a left field addition to the record, it's humor and energy couldn't describe the nature of The Clintons any better!
Ep (Demo) [Explicit]
This five-song demo ep was initially recorded with the intention of working on song ideas. It actually turned out to be good enough to release and has since been a favorite of die hard Clintons fans because of its raw sound and great songs.
Who Invited Roger
Who Invited Roger was produced by critically acclaimed and award winning producer Ken Mary, who has been involved with more than 30 albums selling 5 million copies worldwide. You'll find radio-ready pop-rock tunes that capture the quirkier side of The Clintons. The song "Baltimore" received several months of radio play on Phoenix's infamous The Edge 103.9. WIR is probably most noted for "Fan of the Bean," a song written about John's battle with caffeine addiction that eventually landed him in treatment. Well, he didn't actually go through treatment, but the song was so convincing that it's been #1 on the ska charts of garageband.com for well over a year.
Kinky
Kinky remains a classic with songs like the light-hearted groove rockers like "Little Miss Perfect," so-funky-it-hurts tunes like "Excuse to Jam," and the harmony-happy title track, "Kinky," written about having the hots for an airline attendant, all of which remain staples to every live show. If you're a new fan, Kinky will give you a surprising and possibly entertaining glimpse into how The Clintons got their start.
Levi's Blog
The Clintons Drummer Speaks.
Levi James Kujala, a.k.a. "Kweejis Philbin" or "Steve McKweej," has grown greatly since the band's conception in 2000. He went from being a scrawny, bleach-blonde city boy who played drums for the sole purpose of wooing females to being a slightly less scrawny, European Mohawk-sporting businessman and musician who plays and writes Clintons' music not for fame or fortune, but for the sake of making music.
What brought about those changes, one might ask? For one, Levi's voice got deeper and he started shaving two to three times a week. Secondly, he helped change The Clintons' image from an average, immature, practice-at-our-parents'house garage band to a talented, albeit, still immature, group of eager musicians trying to make a legitimate living doing what they love-making music-for the people they love-you.

Singer, song writing, and blog writer, yo
John Mclellan hails from Casper, Wyoming, a little town just north of Denver, Colorado (225.3 miles, to be exact). The lead singer and principal songwriter of the group, John wears an inexpensive pair of rose-colored aviator sunglasses that allow him to perceive the world in musical and poetic terms and bestow him with the ability to make a catchy song out of any everyday and/or awkward situation. Personally, John embodies the archetypal 'dude in a band': he wears his hair various different forms of unkempt; never leaves home without his black, size 12 Chuck Taylor sneakers; owns several pairs of tattered, ill-fitting jeans; and always has his acoustic guitar within a 100-yard radius. While some aspiring musicians join bands to evade the dreaded 'real world' of 9-5 jobs and mortgage payments, John sees no difference between the two -- music is his real world.

This Bass player has a brain.
A pop-culture enthusiast and sci-fi/fantasy addict, A.J. "The Hammer" Miller seems to have landed right into his dream life of being in a band and dominating the Tuesday Night Trivia parties at his childhood friend, Jimmy Bailey's house. He was first in line to get the final installment of Harry Potter at Barnes & Noble in Billings, Montana and is famous for buying a plane ticket to Hollywood where he cased Universal Studios for 16 days, kidnapped writer J.J. Abrams and held him captive until he told A.J. who was in the coffin on last season's finale of LOST. He was always a quiet, well-mannered, and innocent young fellow while growing up in downtown Billings, Montana. Not much has changed since then, other than a fresh B.A. degree from the University of Montana, a new found interest in girls (one in particular), and a payload of new bass gear.

Percussion, abidition, and capitalized blogs
If the folks at Webster's were to ask The Clintons for a definition of "abidition," odds are the band would merely send them a picture of Josh "THE DAWG" Keehr, sporting a trucker hat, a vague shirt with a name tag that wasn't his, and a Minnesota-brewed beer. Ever since he was a pup growing up in Hutchinson, Minnesota, Josh has been able to make friends like rabbits make offspring. This intense, party-machine percussionist still abides by the generous Midwestern mentality; he is always willing to go out of his way to make sure his guests are comfortable, well-fed, and have a beer in their hand (warning: applies to children). On any given night, when the other band members are dragging ass after a show, you can always count on THE DAWG to be active, excited and eager to, as he puts it, "TIE ONE ON."
