The "Save The Corkscrew Tour" featuring Sunny Jim and John Frinzi

So what happens when a musician -- who is a recent transplant to SW Florida from New Jersey -- tells another musician that he really misses his corkscrew that got left behind with other household goods?  Well, the second musician, of course, decides that they must rescue the corkscrew. Thus, John Frinzi (first musician) and James "Sunny Jim" White (second musician) decided to head north in a great big rental truck.  They had music to play, fun to have, friends to see -- and, well, they had a corkscrew to save.

The Road Schedule For The "Save The Corkscrew Tour"

  • Monday, September 10th: Left SW Florida at about 1 o'clock in the afternoon, drove north until midnight.
  • Tuesday, September 11th: Hit the road at 7 am. Performed with the John Frinzi Band in Baltimore, MD that evening.
  • Wednesday, September 12th: To New Jersey - rescue corkscrew, and rest of household goods that didn't make the trip before, pack truck.
  • Thursday, September 13th: To Walton, NY for a deck show at the Ripa's. (See setlist from the evening here.)
  • Friday, September 14th: Private show in Reisertown, MD
  • Saturday, September 15th: Performance at the Annapolis Maritime Museum with John Frinzi Band and special guest Doyle Grisham (from the Coral Reefer Band)

Shortly after their break, James and John had local songstress Rebbeca join them. How beautiful her voice was as she harmonized perfectly with them on "Under The Boardwalk" and "My Baby".

James "Sunny Jim" White

James "Sunny Jim" White spent more than a decade living and working in the Cayman Islands, and this experience gave him plenty of material for original songs. With Sunny Jim's laid-back attitude and island style, his music is often described as uniquely "American Caribbean". From ballads to fun-loving, upbeat Soca tunes, Sunny Jim's songs tell stories of life on a Caribbean island. His reputation as a storytelling songwriter grows with each new release.

Sunny Jim is a regular on Radio Margaritaville (www.margaritaville.com). In 1999, Radio Margaritaville traveled to the Cayman Islands to broadcast James' show live to a world-wide internet audience, an experience that inspired a song that ended up on his fourth CD, Tropical Trader. His other records include: Postcards from Seven Mile Beach, Life in the Laid Back Lane, Sandbar Serenade and Escape Artist. Two of his songs won awards in the Cayman National Songwriters Competition. Some of his past and current venues include: Margaritaville Café Citywalk (Orlando, FL), Margaritaville Café (New Orleans, LA), Margaritaville Café (Key West, FL), Capt Curt's Backroom Saloon (Siesta Key - Sarasota, FL), Lulu's Sunset Grill and Bar (Fair Hope, AL), Hemingway's Tropical Grill & Bar (Marietta, GA), Conch Republic Seafood Company (Key West, FL), Crabby Bill's (Key West, FL).
