Pets Are The Best People!

Hi, my name is Jasmine and my Dad is great. Daddy says that it's important for me to have safe toys that I can play with, to get plenty of exercise so I can stay healthy and have a loving home with someone who will train and teach me to be a well-behaved furry person. P.S. - I almost have Dad trained the way I want him.

Should I or Shouldn't I Adopt A Dog?

Making the decision to adopt a dog should not be taken lightly. Dog ownership comes with considerable responsibility. Once you adopt your dog, your life will be forever changed.

The decision to adopt a dog and bring them home will hopefully be a 10 to 12 year commitment.

Dogs are pack animals and they don't like to be left alone for long periods of time. They enjoy spending time with their people. You will become a member of their pack. Your dog's greatest desire is going to be spending time with their pack, that is You.

You will want to have a well behaved dog, so spend time training and socializing your dog. Your dog must be under your control when they meet people or other dogs on a walk or if you have company over to your home. Successful training requires patience, consistency and time. If you don't have experience in training dogs then join an organized obedience training class.

You will need to spend time maintaining your dog. This will include things like brushing their teeth or hair, cleaning their ears, giving them bathes, taking them for walks or playing fetch with them.

Before you adopt a dog make sure you have the time required to properly care for them. Remember, your dog will provide you with unconditional love as long as they feel safe and are happy.

Elizabeth wants a pet, but her parents say NO to all of her ideas. She ends up with a cactus called Carolyn. She likes the plant but decides to keep asking her parents for other animals. They keep telling her no. She finds a bug one day and decides that he is the perfect pet.
We liked the pictures in the book. The story line kept us interested til the end.

I would recommend this book because most kids can relate to the little girl in the story. She wants a pet but her parents won't let her have one.

Training Your Cat

Cats are such rewarding companions for humans. Most cats will need a little training and it doesn't have to be a chore.

Cats and dogs learn the same way. Punishment is not an effective way to teach your cat the behaviors you want them to learn. Positive reinforcement is always the best method for training your pet. Your cat will continue to repeat the behavior that got the most pleasant response from you.

Using a toy to train your kitty will keep their interest and keep them occupied. Try rotating different toys during your training sessions to keep up their curiosity.

Give your cat a quick squirt with a water bottle to interrupt the bad behavior that you want to stop. This method does not harm the cat, it just startles them.

A very effective training technique for both cats and dogs is to blow in their face when they are doing something that you don't want them to. In the animal world, this is want their birth mothers would do to stop the bad behavior.

Give your cat quality time. This will create a bond between you and your cat and help with the training sessions.

House Cats - How They Interact With Humans

The cat (Felis catus), also known as the domestic cat or housecat"Housecat" in the American Heritage Dictionary to distinguish it from other felines and felids, is a small carnivorous mammal that is valued by humans for its companionship and its ability to hunt vermin and household pests. It has been associated with humans for at least 9,500 years and is currently the most popular pet in the world.

A skilled predator, the cat is known to hunt over 1,000 species for food. It can be trained to obey simple commands. Individual cats have also been known to learn on their own to manipulate simple mechanisms, such as doorknobs and toilet handles.YouTube - Gizmo Flushes Cats use a variety of vocalizations and types of body language for communication, including meowing, purring, trilling, hissing, growling, squeaking, chirping, clicking, and grunting. They are also bred and shown as registered pedigree pets. This hobby is known as cat fancy.

Until recently the cat was commonly believed to have been domesticated in ancient Egypt, where it was a cult animal. A study in 2007 found that the lines of descent of all house cats probably run through as few as five self-domesticating African Wildcats (Felis silvestris lybica) circa 8000 BC, in the Near East. The earliest direct evidence of cat domestication is a kitten that was buried with its owner 9,500 years ago in Cyprus.

Yes, animals are our best friends, and better than some people I have known. We are their world, and in return for the unconditional love, we care for them.

Yes! You've said it right, Dreams! Pets especially dogs are the best people and they're not just the best but they are the most beautiful people in the world! I have a sweet Pomeranian who's with us for 10 years now and her name is Mitzi and she's really a cute one! I really adored her so much! My wife bought a luxury dog house for her! My kids are also playing with her even though she's sometimes annoyed, maybe of her age but she's still sweet they way she was when she was a pup! I collect pictures of her and I even have my personalized Pomeranian checks which I know she's proud of whenever I let her take a look at her own picture! Now when it comes to adopting, we are all sure we will and we will also give him or her the best in the world just like what we've done to Mitzi! Thanks for this informative lens!
