The Fairy Society - An Enchanted Social Network For All Artists And Their Friends

Have you ever dreamed of a magical place where you and all of your artsy friends can live together in peaceful creativity alongside Kings, Queens, Wizards, Magicians, Fairies, Elves and all creatures of fantasy? The Kingdom is calling - come one, come all!

This lens is all about the wonders of The Fairy Society Online Community. Here you'll find a gathering of independent artists, crafters, designers, musicians, writers, poets, painters, retailers, bloggers, entrepreneurs and more. It's a place where you can meet and form friendships with new and established and even some very famous artists. Spend hours viewing their incredible work and benefit from the wisdom and support they so generously share. Promote your own work and learn new ways to get your art out into the world.

While the theme of the site is fairy and fantasy art and the majority of members work in these genres, all artists, collectors and admirers are welcome.

Take a look at my lens, Creating Polymer Clay Artist Dolls to learn more about how membership at TFS has helped me grow as an artist. Stop by my page at The Fairy Society and my website, Parthena B - Dreams In Polymer Clay And Wire to learn more about TFS and creating with polymer clay.

Or, Why I Love It

Although I have been working with polymer clay for a little over five years, I'm new to artist doll sculpting. A number of incredible artists have been approachable and have offered advice, encouragement and support, enabling me to advance much faster than I would have on my own. I've become friends with other new artists to share the journey and grow with as well.

Rent Tutorial DVD's At SmartFlix

I ran across SmartFlix.com How-To DVDs while searching for some do it yourself instructions on repairing my clothes dryer. Just for the thrill of it, I entered "polymer clay" into the site search. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found that they not only carry basic tutorials but that they also have DVD's from some of the most famous and admired artists in the medium.

Donna Kato, Patricia Rose, Wendy Froud, Sue Heaser and White Gothic Studios are just a few among the artists and experts in the category.

These DVD's can be expensive to purchase. I know that it would take me quite a while to be able to buy all of the ones on my wish list. With SmartFlix, you can have an entire library at your fingertips! You can study up on personal finance and real estate as well as train your dog or learn to fly a plane!

The site also runs holiday specials. For Father's Day, they offered 10% off rentals. Join today and open up a whole new world!

The Isle of Squid

Add Your Lenses!

The Isle of Squid is maintained by a group of lensmasters that want to see Squidoo become a better place. Their time, effort, hosting, and bandwidth is freely given. All of the submissions to the directory are hand-reviewed for quality. There's a feature where visitors can review your lenses but it doesn't seem to be functional at present. I'll be back with that link when it is.

Support Truth, Love and Service

We are a spiritual center located in Crestone, Colorado. Our main goal is to help people live lives of truth, simplicity, and love and to be of service to humankind.

We at Squidoo passionately believe in creating new ways to support good causes online. By making a donation to The Ashram of Babaji from this page, you are sending money directly to that organization, in whatever amount you want. We don't touch it. We don't even see it. The author of this page doesn't either. And if you made it this far, thanks for caring.

Newest and Recently Updated Lenses

I have 11 other lenses on a variety of topics. Here are the newest and most recently updated.
Best Bellydance DVDs, Ever *NEW*
Unless you live in New York, Los Angeles, Miami or San Francisco, you probably don't have much access to formal bellydance instruction. And if you live in a rural area or a part of the country that still equates bellydancers with strippers, there may be no bellydance classes in your area at all.The great news is that you can easily teach yourself to bellydance at home!
Is Marriage Outdated? *NEW*
Ah, weddings. We love 'em, don't we? Marriage is a rite of passage symbolized by the glowing bride in a beautiful dress followed by an often huge celebration where everyone share's in the couple's joy.
Celebrity Deaths And The Media *NEW*
The 'King of Pop,' Michael Jackson, died on June 25, 2009 of an apparent heart attack. Initial reports of his death speculated that prescription drug abuse was a factor. Amid stories bewailing the loss of a creative genius and cultural icon are allegations of drug abuse that continue to grow.
Adult Attachment Disorder *NEW*
Trust is a precious human commodity that is quite perishable. Once broken, it can be all but impossible to restore, especially when the trauma is rooted in the early years of childhood. When carried into adulthood, RAD (reactive attachment disorder) becomes a disability. "Real Housewives of New Jersey" Danielle Staub paints a clear photo of RAD in adulthood.
Aging Pet Owners
Our pets keep us company, entertain and comfort us, bring us joy, protect us and even provide physical and emotional health benefits. Most of us have experienced the loss of a pet through death or other circumstances - but imagine losing the ability to care for a beloved pet because you can barely care for yourself.
Deadly Medical Mistakes
Ten years ago, the Institute of Medicine's objective was to cut medical errors in half by 2004, to reduce the 1.5 million medication errors that occur each year, and to ensure competency in patient safety by medical professionals. Today, an estimated 200,000 still die each year from medical mistakes
The Statute of Limitations Blocks Back Surgery Malpractice Suits
People are typically encouraged to file accident reports or take other action immediately following car accidents or injuries on the job even if they don't appear to be hurt. A large part of the reasoning behind this is that symptoms might not manifest immediately. Back injuries seem to be notorious
Photographing Jewelry And Art For Online Auctions
I've had bad eyesight since I was a child and cameras and I have never gotten along. Even with the miracle of the digital camera, I still need one that can do nearly everything for me. Cameras rarely do jewelry and handcrafted items justice, so good photos are critical for online selling. I'm
Making Wire Sculpted Jewelry
This lens is the best resource for beginning and self-taught jewelry artists who want to expand their skills. Here you'll find the best resources for educational materials, tools, suppliers, online tutorials and events. Now includes links to jewelry making contests.
