Early Retirement Coincides with Stock Market Bust
I retired early in May of 2002 after 35 years in the telecommunications systems industry. Everything was set for my full-time Rving Lifestyle that I had dreamed about.
I had been looking forward to a more relaxed lifestyle. Suddenly things looked a little scary when my stock market funds lost more than 50% due to the dot com technology bust.
Well, not to be undone, I went to work learning about the Internet and how it could subsidize my finances. I was forced to find solutions to the high cost of health care , and living expenses, as I was too young for any government benefits at that time

Divorced, Re-Married & Re-Location - You Have The Experience Too!
Have you lived and worked in three different countries recently?
Your life was turned upside down when you divorced, and it took you some time to re-group. Not only had you lost your partner, and maybe some family contact too, but your financial resources were divided as they should be.

In my case I am a Canadian, who was a resident in Florida, and was enjoying full-time Rving at the time of my separation, and divorce. Subsequently I have re-married and relocated to the Netherlands, with a business base in Florida still.

Life Threatening Health Issue - Now That Gets Your Attention For Sure
Jan 11, 2009 - An Anniversary For Me
My life was turned upside down!!
After several diagnostic tests beginning Dec 27, 2007, I received the confirmation of the diagnosis of Stage 3b non small cell lung cancer in my upper right lung lobe, and several lymph nodes in my chest cavity, one year ago on Jan 11, 2008 and began the first of 4 - 21 day cycles of chemotherapy Feb 1, 2008, looking forward to a positive outcome!
I began the first of 13 radiation treatments May 08, and completed on May 27
I found this note in my journal for July 03, 2008 - "Being optimistic is a daily decision made with both my mind and heart"
I have been in remission since July 03, 2008 >>>>WOW!!
Since about Aug 01 until Dec 03, I have been dealing with a radiation side effect called "radiation pneumonitis" - a lung inflammation treatable with a cortisone medication, the medication has now ended. and I am having regular followup appointments every 2 months now.....and remission continues.....
