You Can't Eat a Candle, but our candles feed the world!
Five percent may not seem like much, but over time, the pennies add up. Flint, Michigan is probably better known for cars than candles, but our hand made candles have become popular to buyers across the country and around the world. What's more, 5% of every sale goes toward our Charity of Choice, the Food Bank fo Eastern Michigan.
Giving is it's own reward
From our humble beginnings in 2004, The Giving Candle has flourished in a highly competitive market. With the likes of Yankee, PartyLite, White Barn and even Wal-Mart cranking out hundreds of candles, what distinguishes us from the others? Hand made Quality. With longer burning candles that burn cleanly and evenly from start to finish, customers get more for their money. Pre-trimmed wicks and face-label free containers means customers can just light them and enjoy their favorite fragrances and colors without interruption. Plus our exclusive mouthblown glassware from Romania is always a conversation piece. Each candle purchase is presented in either our signature organza giving bag or gift box, and includes a story/gift card, making them ready to give the moment you get them - no wrapping required.
We do all that for less than our competition and STILL give 5% to charity. That's a value you can feel good about.

Something For Every Fragrance Lover
Dozens of scents, shapes and colors
The Giving Candle offers over 50 fragrances: fruity, rich, decadent, masculine and natural. We also custom match competitor fragrances. The company offers candles in a variety of waxes: taper candles made with genuine bayberry wax - a rare and expensive wax to work with in the candle business. Most notably, our Heavenly Gems are made with a patented transparent wax that you can see right through that are vailable in votives, pillars and ball-shaped styles.
Prefer an all natural candle? We are releasing a line of vegetable wax based candles that burn even longer and cleaner than our current paraffin recipe, without the lingering odor or scent problems found in soy waxes.
Our new Blue Halo home fragrance oils are selling like hotcakes! Three little drops can fill your home with luscious fragrance for hours. Use an electric burner and there's no flame to be found!
Invariably, there is something for every candle lover at the giving candle.

- Strongly Scented Candles: Use your mouth, nose and eyes to tell
- Triple scented, heavily scented, strongly scented - these are all phrases candle manufacturers are using to tout their claim that their candles have more "smell" for your buck. In reality, these claims only act to confuse most consumers. Candles are made with so many different wax blends, it can be difficult to know for sure how well a cold candle will perform until it is lit. That means, in most cases, buying the candle first. So what can you do if you're eager to try a new candle scent or candles form a new company? Use your senses to make sense of the scents!
- Get the Lead Out: Candle Wicks in the US
- With increasing competition in the candle industry, many makers are celebrating the fact that they use no lead in their wicks. The original idea behind using metal cored wicks was to provide more rigidity so that as a candle's wax pooled, the wick wouldn't slump over and drown out. Wick technology, as little as it's known, has improved dramatically in recent years. While lead poisoning is a serious matter, you might be surprised at the actual data regarding candles with lead wicks in the US.
